Easy Monkey Bread



2 cans (7.5 oz. ea.) Pillsbury Biscuits

1/3 cup stick margarine or butter

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 TB vanilla extract

1 TB ground cinnamon

2 TB water



Preheat oven to 400º F.



Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces and put in a large bowl.



In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter with brown sugar,

vanilla, cinnamon and water until well mixed, and sugar is dissolved.



Pour over biscuit pieces and stir until all pieces are well coated.



Place mixture in a Bundt pan coated with Pam.



Bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes.



Turn pan upside down of a platter and let cool.

This colorful, festive bread will perk up your holiday table. A favorite with the kids.

Candy Rainbow Bread

1 (1/4-ounce) package active dry yeast or 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
3 cups all-purpose or bread flour
1/4 cup powdered milk
3 tablespoons
granulated sugar
1 tablespoon butter flavoring
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup colored sugar sprinkles
  1. In a small bowl, soften yeast in warm water (105° to 115°F) for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl combine yeast mixture, flour, powdered milk, sugar, butter flavoring, salt, eggs, melted butter and vanilla. Mix well and knead until smooth and satiny, about 10 minutes. Knead in sugar sprinkles. Cover and allow to rise in a warm place for 2 hours.
  3. Punch down, place in a greased loaf pan, and allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  4. Bake bread for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.

Makes 1 loaf.

Recipe requires special teddy bear baking pan which can be found in most specialty kitchen shops.

Teddy Bear Gift Bread

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 cup white granulated sugar
3 teaspoons
baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 large beaten egg
1 cup low fat milk
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Candy to decorate
Teddy bear baking pan
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or spray baking pan well with cooking spray. In food processor or large bowl mix all dry ingredients together. Add milk, egg and oil. Mix until just blended. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until knife come out clean when inserted. Let cool, then remove bread from pan onto flat surface.
  2. Use candy to decorate. Try jelly beans for the eyes, a nonpareil for the nose, red shoe-string licorice for the mouth, black shoe-string licorice for a bow tie and jelly beans for buttons.
