When Kathy called to inquire about her first Meeting, the woman on the phone told her the next one started in an hour. Kathy was already in her pj's, but that didn't stop her! She went anyway, and look at her now.
In March 2002 I joined Weight Watchers for the third time. I had lost 40 pounds in 1990 and earned my Lifetime Membership*, but gained all of the weight back, plus some, when I got pregnant. I joined again before my second pregnancy and lost most of the weight ?then I got pregnant again. After the second pregnancy, I never had the desire to rejoin. I just didn't care, or at least that's what I told myself.
Then I woke up and realized my back hurt all the time, I was having chest pains, and I was too ashamed to go to the doctor because I knew he would just tell me I was overweight. I knew I had to help myself before I could ask for help.
I picked up the phone and called Weight Watchers. The woman on the other end said a Meeting started in one hour. I told her I was in my pajamas and she said, "Throw your clothes on and come as you are!" Boy am I glad I did.
A New Start
I knew right away that the Weight Watchers plan was something I could live with for the rest of my life. It was so very simple to me ?not like counting calories. I love being able to eat real food and lose weight. I joined a gym and started trying to be active whenever I could.
I was hoping to lose a bit of weight, but I never dreamed I would lose this much. When they told me to go for just 10 percent, I thought, "I can do that." Then I thought, "If I could just lose 20 pounds, or if I could just get under 200." With Weight Watchers, I lost a total of 77.2 pounds*! I've gone from a size 18 to a size 6. I still can't believe it! It's so true what they say: Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.
I feel the best I've ever felt in my whole life. I no longer worry about my health: My cholesterol has dropped, and I have no chest or back pain. I'm finally within a normal BMI, which I never thought possible. I know that this is going to be a permanent lifestyle change and that there will be no "going off the diet." This is my new way of life.
At least 10 people I know have joined Weight Watchers since I was successful at it. I think they figured if I can do it, anybody can. Weight Watchers works!

Kathy's advice to new Meetings Members:
"Stick with it. Like anything else you've got ups and downs. Don't look at your failures. When you have a bad week, forget it and move on."
