Wow, looking back!

My plan was just what it takes for me. I made one horrible mistake during this journey and that was trying ephedra. I have a heart problem, mild as it may be(a leaking Mitro Valve) so I was very fortunate not to have became a statistic.

What I did right was:

Exercise - I was using my gazzelle daily - without fail, I was walking every day - NO EXCUSES. Played tennis atleast 2 nights a week.

Water - I was drinking water everywhere I went, bathroom or not, I would find a place.

Food Plan - Non particular - I ate exactly what I wanted for my meals, I was just so in tune with real hunger and satisfaction that I was immediatly cutting my meals in half to 1/3 and complettely satisfied. I was not just cleaning a whole heaped plate and more during endless conversation with my family.

My snacks I did make a conscience effort to make fruit or healthy. We did go out for our occassional treat, but within reason, not endlessly eating a gallon of Chocolate icecream because it was in the freezer.

I was almost there about 10 more pounds to go, then I started slipping, I lightened on the exercise, before long I did't miss it and my clothes were still fitting. COOL I thought, so slowely I stopped paying so much attention to my portion and what my body was telling me on being hungry or satified. Stopped drinking water, just slowely forgot about it, until one day I was drinking none.

Then Boom, all my size 8's were way too tight and some wouldn't even meet in the middle. I refused to buy more clothes, time to stop this now. Still can't fit my clothes!

Back to 158! Now instead of 10 to loose I had 38. I've learned I can't be a slacker, make what sounds to be logical excuses and get there. I'm still having a time getting back on track and staying there for more than a week or so.

I'm back down  to 148 so still 28 to go. I realize it's my choice and if I keep doing what I'm doing now, it'll not get me there in any decent amount of time. If I make it a priority, I'll see results. The biggy is learning and realizing, when I start slacking, it will adventually catch up with me!

Me - A work in progress!

Hi Gena! Congrats on the incredible progress you've made, I know you'll get back to where your want to be and you'ce learned a valuble lesson as well. I was wondering, how long did it take you to get from 181 down to 130?

This is actually a great post. I think this happens to so many people, it did to me! When you get so close to your goal, or even not close to your goal but you're now more confident with your weight... sometimes we don't put so much effort into it. For everyone who's weight did that yo-yo thing, i bet the went throught what you and I did.

CONGRATULAtIONS!!!
What a helpful post.
Can you let everyone know what your biggest motivators were?  and what did you do to get through the really tough times?
I have the same weakness  you have struggled with. . .Slowly I let the exercise dwindle and the portions get bigger and I slack after a weight loss.
Good for you for finding the strength to get back in the game w/out loosing it all (gaining it all) completely.  This has been hugely motivational for me.  Thank you.
Jennifer
