Happy Birthday, Grannie's Attic!!!  First, I would like to thank Leilani or you may know her as ~CN~, for this wonderful card. Thank You so much, Hun. Just thought I'd give you a little history about the Attic in those 7 years. When I first created the Attic, there was nothing here. I was new to computers and didn't know anything about them. I guess I started like the rest of you. All I had was this community with a dancing Grannie on it. lol. I went surfing, and came across this group, that promised to help you create a group, so I joined. I told him my problem, and he said he could help. He could get me going, and get a welcome page on and all that stuff. But I would have to make him a asst or a manager in order to do it. Well, I did something that I would never do today. I made him a manager. True to his word, I got up the next morning I got up with the most glittery Welcome page around! He also set me up with other boards and pages. He told me what communities to join to promote my community. Soon, I was getting new members. It was a wonderful feeling. The name of the group was Community Filiates. It is no longer there. The manager I was talking about was PromoMaster. Someone said he joined the military. May God Bless him. I really have to give him credit for what the Attic is today. Then, one day, I went to communities home page and found a picture of an older women and it said Grannies Attic. At that time we were called Communities and not groups. I thought there was another Grannies Attic, so I clicked on it to find out. Lord and behold, it was ME!! Then the new members just started to pour in. Not 3 or 4 at a time, but maybe 15 or 16 a day! I couldn't handle this myself, so I went crying to another group that I trust, asking for help. They were kind enough to send me 3 of their finest. I have to admit, some of those members were not very nice. At that time we couldn't unjoin them, all we could do is to ban them. It was like 24 hours of watching for the bad members. Now, everyone is talking about becoming a Cool Community. That was the least I wanted. I had all I could do with what I had, and I'd just started to get things under control. Well.. wouldn't you just know it.. the next thing I know is the Attic is deemed as a Cool Community, by MSN! That is why we have the sun glasses by our name. Once again the members started to flock in. But the 3 girls sent to me were really great. Weeding though over 1000 members was not an easy job, but between the 4 of us, we got it done. Now, MSN has switched from communities to groups. They no longer offer the Cool Group glasses. Things settled down at the Attic and the girls went on their way. I'll always be thankful for those girls that worked so hard with me. Managers and Assts. have come and gone, for one reason or another. The Attic has been though thick and thin. We were even destroyed at one time and everything was deleted except the group itself. But we rebuilt and here we are today. Maybe we were badly bent, but we didn't fall down! So...
