We are starting a new thread that will continue along the line of our first subject “New Beginnings? The first step to starting ‘Anew?is to separate ourselves from the ‘Old?/FONT>

I think we will do this study like we’ve been doing the “Open for Discussion?on (General board) and see how it goes. Get out your Bibles and lets get started?

2Co 6:17-18 "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."

In the above verse who is “Them?that we are to separate ourselves from? And what is the ‘Unclean Thing?we are not to touch?

Any feed back on this one?

I have always believed "the ground is level under the cross" as my granny used to say. Feedback please.

Cor 5:9-13 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

God will judge unbelievers, we are not to judge them; but, if a person claims to be a Christian and yet lives a sinful lifestyle, we are not to associate with that person.

2 Chr 18:34-19:2 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died. And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem. And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

We should not lend our support to anyone who hates the LORD, that is like supporting the enemy in a time of war.

Ps 1:1-6 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

True wisdom comes from knowing and believing in God. The word of God says the unbeliever is a fool, he has no true wisdom; therefore, we should not listen to the advise of unbelievers. We should not do as the unbelievers do, nor even be identified with them.

Ps 101:6-7 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

The Lord watches over those who believe in Him and live a life that is pleasing to Him. If you are a Christian who wants to serve the Lord, you must begin by living a lifestyle that is pleasing to Him. Rom 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. We must not be conformed to the world around us, we must be different, we must be transformed into the image of Christ, if we are to serve Him. Therefore, we cannot live a life that is pleasing to the Lord if we are living as unbelievers live.

Ps 106:34-35 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them: But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

Associating with unbelievers will corrupt our behavior; therefore, we should not associate with them any more than is necessary.

Prov 12:26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

We are to lead unbelievers to Christ, but we must be careful that we are not led astray by the wicked person or by the wicked society we live in.

Prov 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

We will always be influenced by our companions; therefore, we must choose our companions wisely. We must not think of ourselves as too wise to be corrupted, remember even Solomon, with all his wisdom, was led astray by his unbelieving wives.

Prov 14:7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

Foolishness will rub off on anyone who spends time with a fool.

Prov 22:5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.

We can guard ourselves from the many mistakes and sins of the perverse by staying far away from them.

1 Cor 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Anyone can be corrupted by the wrong kind of relationship. We must not think we are too wise or too good to be corrupted by unbelievers. We must be careful not to be involved with unbelievers any more than is necessary.

2 Cor 6:14-7:1 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

There is no harmony between Jesus Christ and Satan; therefore, there is no harmony between the believer and the unbeliever. We are going to spend all eternity separated from unbelievers, there is no reason to be bound together with them now. We are not to be like them, we are to be like Christ.

Gal 5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

We may not even realize we are being corrupted by the unbelievers among us. If we tolerate evil, it will rub off on us.

Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

No Christian is so mature or so good that he cannot be tempted. We must always be on our guard against evil.

Eph 5:6-7 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

Unbelievers will try to deceive us; they will try to get us to take part in their evil ways. We must not tolerate them because they will influence us.

II Th 3:6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Paul instructs us to separate ourselves from believers who live a sinful lifestyle because their sinful habits will rub off on us.

1 Tim 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

We must be careful that we do not approve of the wrong people for spiritual leadership, because in doing so, we become responsible for their wrongdoing in connection with that leadership position.

1 Tim 6:3-5 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

As we strive to be separate from sinners, we must be careful not to become legalistic in our approach to righteousness. We do not acquire righteousness by our behavior, but because we do have the righteousness of Christ we are to behave like Christ.

2 Tim 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

We are to avoid people who claim to be Christians and yet live as the world around us lives.

2 Pet 2:18-19 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

There are false teachers who entice baby Christians by teaching that there is no such thing as sin, or that we are free to do anything we desire to do. They are enslaved by sin and they try to enslave Christians, hoping to be able to justify their own behavior. We must always be on our guard against those who would lead us away from our devotion to Christ.

II Jn 1:10-11 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

We must be careful not to tolerate false teachers. If we encourage anyone who teachers a lie or a different gospel, we are participating in their evil deeds. We are to reject the false teacher and make them know that we do not approve of them in any way.

Rev 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

If we want the approval of Jesus Christ, we must expose false teachers.

The word of God instructs us to be separate from all false teachers, evil workers, and unbelievers. We must not ignore the instructions of God's word; there is never any validexcuse to disobey God.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing;..." II Cor. 6:17). From the very beginning of time God warned His people to separate themselves from evil. Not only were they to not become engulfed in evil, they were not even to touch it. In the Garden of Eden God warned Adam and Eve of the danger of becoming involved in sin. In reference to the fruit on the tree of knowledge of good and evil that was in the midst of the garden, God said, "...Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die" (Gen. 3:3).

Separate means to be unconnected, not united, or distinct. If we want to follow Jesus, we must fry to do as He did. Jesus was "...holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, . . ." (Heb. 7:26).

Because Satan knows that he can cause confusion in the hearts and minds of man by encouraging God's people to ignore the admonishment to live a separated, sanctified life, he has tried to deny the value of separation. He even goes so far as to say that God does not tell the truth about separation. Satan told Eve, ". . .Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil" (Gen. 3:4-5).

Since that time mankind has been engaged in a baffle to understand the consequences of separation or lack of separation from the world. At various times in their history, the children of Israel ignored God's warning to be separate from the world. They moved into the cities of heathen, became very involved in their businesses and even married into their families.

Many of the children of Israel married into heathen families. Many times those who married heathens began to worship the gods of their spouses. This brought reproach to the children of Israel and caused great distress. At the time of Ezra, those who had done so were commanded to ". . . separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives" (Ez. 10:11). Jeremiah also warned the children of Israel of the dangers of intermingling ". . .in the assembly of the mockers . . ." (Jer. 15:17). If they would return to the Lord "...and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, . . ." (Jer. 15:19), the Lord would deliver them out of the hands of the wicked.

When there was strife between the herdsmen of Lot and Abram, Lot was given the opportunity to choose whether he would go to the right hand or to the left. Lot chose to go to the well watered plains in the direction of Sodom. It was a decision that would cause him to intermingle with those of Sodom who ". . .were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly" (Gen. 13:13). It was a decision that would bring much sorrow into Lot's life. He would ultimately lose everything except his two daughters and the clothes they were wearing at the time they were led away from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Separation from evil is especially important in the house of God. The Lord has instructed us in many places to remove evil from among us. We are to examine our selves first (I Cor. 11:28). In Matthew 18 we are given clear instruction on how to re move evil that might come between us and our brother. After self-examination we should go to our brother ". . .and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: . ., if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that . . .every word may be established. And if he neglect to hear them, tell it to the church: But if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an hea then man and a publican" (Verses 15-17).

The Apostle Paul wrote that "...ye with draw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly,..." (II Thess. 3:6) and "... have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them" (Eph. 5:11). Other scriptural warnings to separate ourselves from evil include "...avoid them . . ." (Ro. 16:17), ". .not to keep company..., with such an one, no, not to eat" (I Cor. 5:11), ". . .withdraw thy self' (I Tim. 6:5), ". . .from such turn away" (II Tim. 3:5), and "...neither bid him God speed" (II Jn. 10).

In spite of all the warnings to separate ourselves from evil and those who are involved in evil, God's love must continue in our lives toward those who have fallen. We are instructed to "... count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother" (II Thess. 3:15). The ultimate goal of all of this is that the wayward individual may be brought back to the Lord.

In a world so filled with sin, how do we maintain separation? Jesus, in the parable of the tares sowed by an enemy, told us that there would be times when we could not totally remove ourselves physically from all evil. When the servant asked if they should go and gather up the tares the master said "Let them both grow together until the harvest ...and bind (the tares) in bundles to burn them: . . ." (Mt. 13:28-30).

Although we may not be able to completely and physically separate ourselves from evil, we do not need to allow our selves to be spiritually unprotected. We can learn from Peter's example after Christ's arrest. Peter wanted desperately to do the right thing. He kept himself some what separated from the world as they took Jesus to His trial, but Peter made a very serious mistake. He allowed himself to get too far from Jesus. "And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: . . ." (Mk. 14:54). Peter allowed enough space between himself and Jesus to allow Satan to get between them. He tried but failed to keep his promise of faithfulness.

If we want to be separated from the world, we must stay close to Jesus. We cannot always avoid contact with the world but we can avoid being involved in the sin. The Psalmist recognized the progression of evil into the lives of one who may be careless. "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful" (Ps. 1:1). Satan would like us to walk with sinners, stand with them and, finally, sit with them. Jesus did not avoid contact with sinners but he did not allow himself to become a part of their activities. If we stay close to Jesus, He will keep us safe from harm.

Amen! But what about married couples?? One spouse is a Christian and the other believes in God, but isn't living a Christian life.

2 Cor. 6: 11-18 It is wrong for believers to join with the wicked and profane. The word unbeliever applies to all destitute of true faith. True pastors will caution their beloved children in the gospel, not to be unequally yoked. The fatal effects of neglecting Scripture precepts as to marriages clearly appear. Instead of a help meet, the union brings a snare. Those whose cross it is to be unequally united, without their wilful fault, may expect consolation under it; but when believers enter into such unions, against the express warnings of God's word, they must expect mush distress.

Just suppose both of them were living in sin when they married, even tho they believe in God.??

Sis the word tells us that the unbelieving spouse is sanctified by the believing spouse. If both where unbelievers and became saved after marriage the same verse would apply.

1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

1Co 7:15-16 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?

It tells us in the verse above that if a unbeliever wants to leave let them leave.

Now my question is... what does it mean when it says “A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases.??/STRONG>

I found this on the web…and it seems factual to me

"Are there different levels of Heaven??/FONT>

Answer: The closest thing Scripture says to there being different levels of Heaven is found in 2 Corinthians 12:2, “I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know-God knows.?Some interpret this as indicating that there are three different levels of Heaven. However, Paul is not saying that there are three heavens or even three levels of heaven. In that day, people believed in three heavens ?the sky, outer space, and then a spiritual heaven. These are commonly known as the terrestrial, telestial, and celestial heavens. There are different levels of reward in Heaven, but only one level of Heaven.******

Now I have a few questions.

Just where is heaven ? Is there a difference in heaven and Gods kingdom? Or is heaven and Gods Kingdom one in the same.?

I beleive that we will be rewarded for what our work that is done. but all our rightness is God in us nothing of our self.

Now from what I can read and under stand ,Heaven is Heaven, and we all will stand around the thrown of God,and look upon his face

and join the angels singing ,and as for me that is where I want to be.

Isa 64:6
64:6: But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

2 Chronicles
15:7: Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.

Now Redda as for as your question.
1=Where is heaven?>>>> Im not sure where, but I feel like where
ever this place is its Heaven because Jesus will be there.and that is right where I want to be.

Is there a differance in Heaven and the Gods Kingdom ?
is Heaven and Gods Kingdom one in the same?

I my self beleive there is a differance between Heaven and Gods Kingdom
the scriptures says

Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Luk 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Mat 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Luk 11:20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

Now as for (Heaven)
1Ki 8:39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, [even] thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)
here it says Heaven is the Lords dwelling place
and I also know he lives in our hearts but our heart is not where these scriptures are referring to here.

Isa 66:1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven [is] my throne, and the earth [is] my footstool: where [is] the house that ye build unto me? and where [is] the place of my rest?
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God.

Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Glory God Bless You All

Heaven is a place where . . .

I.   No evil shall be.

1. The wicked will not be in heaven--Matt. 13:49 "So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just."

2. There will be no death in heaven--Luke 20:34-36 "And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection."

3. There will be no sorrow in heaven--Rev. 21:1-4 "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

4. There will be no sin in heaven--Rev. 21:27 "And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."

5. There will be no curse in heaven--Rev. 22:3 "And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:"

6. Why? No corrupting influences in heaven.

1) Heavenly treasures will last eternally for there is nothing to corrupt them there--Matt. 6:20 "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:"

2) No evil can be in heaven because it is incorruptible, and undefiled--1 Peter 1:3, 4 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you."

all I relly know about heaven is

Its where God and Jesus are

and boy  I really one day want to go there
