Born to Victory

"I have told you these things so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer...I have overcome the world."

-- (John 16:33, The Amplified Bible)

Jesus said as long as you live in the world, you're going to have
trouble. (I can vouch for that!) But you're not just in the world.
You're in JESUS in the world, and that makes all the difference. You're in Him and He's overcome every kind of trouble there is.

As God's child, you're not the defeated trying to get victory. You're the overcomer, and Satan's trying to rob you of the victory that already belongs to you.

When you made Jesus the Lord of your life, you were born into victory...because the Victor came to live in you. Think about it. The victorious Jesus. The Anointed One. The glorified and resurrected Lord. The Ruler of the Universe.

Cheer up, my friend. Have "perfect peace and confidence." That's Jesus who lives in you!

"I have told you these things so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer...I have overcome the world."

Great advice (as is all of our Lords teachings) I have learned /and am still being taught today by the Holy Spirit, how to walk in this verse "I have told you these things so that in me you may have perfect peace and confidence. Jesus is saying very clearly that he has foretold us all we need to know to exist in this sinful world, and his reason for telling us is so that we can walk through our daily life in perfect peace and confidence.

“In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration;?/P>

He knew that we would have trials/and/tribulations, and get discouraged, but in these next words he tells us how to overcome; but be of good cheer...He tells us to cheer up. So my friends the next time you have a trial/or/trouble try reacting to it as Christ has taught us to do Cheer UP. You can do it! or he would not have told us we could. We can because we are his…and it is He who said?I have overcome the world."

"Suggestions for Victorious Living"

1.  Forget the last kindness you do as soon as you have done it.

2.  Forget the praise that falls to you the moment you have won it.

3.  Forget the slander you hear before you can repeat it.

4.  Forget each slight, each spite, each sneer wherever you meet it.

5.  Remember every kindness done to you.

6.  Remember to praise others and to pass it on with pleasure.

7.  Keep your promises.

8.  Remember those who give you aid.

9.  Remember all the happiness that comes your way in living.

10. Forget worries and distress - be hopeful and forgiving.

11. Remember good, truth and the heavens above.

12. Many will see Jesus through your actions

Thanks Sis, I like the way you explained this; Jesus is saying very clearly that he has foretold us all we need to know to exist in this sinful world, and his reason for telling us is so that we can walk through our daily life in perfect peace and confidence.  It couldn't be stated more clearly!!  I'm still learning to react to trials, by calling on the Holy Spirit to guide me.

Thank You too Averil,  these suggestions are great!!  I know these work, I've used most of them for the past 3 years and my life has not been so stressful. I have learned to "Celebrate the Victories."

Here are some of God's Promises that encourage us to "Celebrate Victories".
I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.  I will be glad and rejoice in You;  I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. Psalms 9: 1-2.

Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us.  This is the Lord; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.  Isaiah 25:9.

And this is my favoriate, no matter what is going on in my life, I sing God's Praise!!
I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever;  with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to ALL generations. Psalms 89:1.

If You want to be Victorious, be a Blessing!! This puts the devil on the run, which cuts your trials in half, because satan wont stay where God's blessings are flowing!!  When you give to others (and it don't have to be money, give of yourself or whatever God lays on your heart), not only are they being blessed--God will bless you too.

"Let those who favor my righteous cause and have pleasure in my
uprightness shout for joy and be glad, and say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, Who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant."   (Psalm 35:27, The Amplified Bible)

If traditional religion has taught you that God wants you poor and
oppressed, I have good news for you today. The Bible says, "God takes pleasure" in your prosperity. God wants you to prosper!

Not just in the financial realm but in every area of your life...spirit,
soul, and body.

No matter where you are or who you are, God wants to see you delivered from every adverse situation.

Why? Because He loves you and He has a job for you to do. He wants you to help meet the needs of mankind and He's smart enough to know that you can't give away what you don't have. You can't give to spread the gospel or buy food for the hungry when you're broke. You can't go out laying hands on the sick when you're lying in a hospital bed. You can't minister joy to others when you're being held captive by depression. No!
You have to be blessed to be a blessing.

If you really want to tap into the riches of God today, make up your
mind to be a blessing to others, and before you know it, you'll be
receiving more from God than you ever dreamed.

That's what happened to me. I decided years ago, first and foremost, to be a giver. I developed a lifestyle of giving. Today, I literally "live to give." And I don't mind telling you, God dumps blessings on me by the truckload!

He'll do the same for you if you'll become His servant--if you'll lay
down your time and your money and your love for those who need it.
Become a giver--and God will take pleasure in prospering you!

SCRIPTURE READING:  Genesis 12:1-4,Genesis 13:1-4.

When I give to others what God lays on my heart to give, I'm not doing it to show off or to be gain their favor, I do it for the Glory of God and the blessings He has already bestowed upon me, even if all I have to give is myself.

(I have adopted these short studies from the "Kenneth Copeland Ministries."  I've found then to be a blessing and I too can learn from them).

We are trying to live victorious lives and receive God's promises and answers into our lives ...
... we know things should be better in our lives ...
Yet, somehow we don't or we cannot make the connection ...
... we keep on doing the wrong things
... and life certainly does not seem victorious at all!

Therefore, what we need to know is ...

  • How can we get our lives to line up with God's Word and His commandments?
  • How can we get our lives to be the victorious lives they should be?
  • How can we get to receive into our life the fullness of God's promises and provision?
  • I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. --- Gal. 2:20 (NKJV)

God's provision and promises are in Jesus ...
... living that victorious life in God's provision ... is thus in Jesus!
And Jesus is not out there somewhere, He is in us ...

"At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. --- John 14:20 (NKJV)

    The truth is ...
... only as much of Jesus' Lordship that you allow in your life ...
... only as much of your day that you put in His hands and under His Lordship ...
Only that much will be covered by His promises and provision!

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. ---John 15:7 (NKJV)

No! It is not out there somewhere.

It is right here where I live, where I work, where I have needs ...
... Here where I live in Him, in His presence
... Here where His words, His promises, His provision can manifest in me!

In the book of Revelation Jesus says something very important to us ...

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. --- Rev 3:20-21 (NKJV)

Why did Jesus say ... Let me into your life?
Simply, because our problem is that most of the time we are trying to do everything by ourselves, in our own strength and with our limited knowledge and ability.
... we try to make God's Word work in our lives ...
... we try to receive God's provisions in our own strength ...
And that, as we all have experienced for ourselves ... it just does not work.

God knows we cannot do it on our own ...
... and He did not plan for us to do it on our own.
Therefore God has made provision for us to step from the old, pressured, defeated life, into that new victorious, abundant life.
As Jesus says to us ... "Let me in so I can help!" ...

"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. --- John 10:10 (NKJV)

Amen!!!  And where can he be found??..Right where you are!!

"Who shall separate us from the love of God? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?...Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Romans 8:35,37-39.

You can have Victory in your life...Jesus Christ the Lord is only a heartfelt prayer away.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."   -- (Romans 10:13)

I know that People everywhere have gathered together to celebrate the first bright moments of the New Year.

Yet, for thousands of others, this day will be the toughest 24 hours of their lives. For those people, New Year's will serve only as a dim reminder of loneliness and loss. It will simply mark the beginning of another year of failure.

What about you? What's this year really going to be like for you?

You may appear to be happy enough. You may be passing out seasonal smiles and holiday greetings just like everybody else. But inside, you may hurt. You may be disappointed. You may even feel like you can't go
on.

If so, I want you to know something. All of that can change in an instant. You can start your life over today and make this New Year the most joyful year of your life!

How many times have you said to yourself, "If I could just start over, I'd do it all differently"? That doesn't have to be simply an idle wish.
Jesus Christ has actually made it possible. That's His Christmas present to you. He paid the price for all your sins. He paid the penalty for all your mistakes.

That's the reason He came to earth. That's the reason He was born--so you could start over!

You may look at your life and say, "But I've made some terrible mistakes. I've done some despicable things." That doesn't matter. Jesus paid the price for them all!

How can you make a new start? Romans 10:9 says that "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." It's as easy as saying, "Jesus, I'm turning my life over to You. From this day
forward I'm Yours."

What better time to turn your life around than on these first days of the New Year. Right now, wherever you are, just give your life to Jesus.
Then jump up and down and holler, "Praise God, I'm starting all over!"
And find out what it really means to have a Happy New Year!

In Good Times and Bad

"Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him."  (Psalm 91:14-15)

God is called by many names. He is the Lord our Healer, our Provider, our Banner, and our Righteousness. He also promises to be our Deliverer.  In this troubled world that may very well be what we need Him to be most often.

But there are many believers who never experience God's mighty delivering power because, instead of walking closely with Him day by day, they wait until danger strikes to call upon Him. That just doesn't work. If you want God to rescue you in the bad times, you have to fellowship with Him in the good times. Why? Because God responds to faith. Our faith, not our need, is what causes Him to act on our behalf.
And we'll never be able to develop that kind of faith, that kind of
trust and confidence in Him, if we don't spend enough time with Him to get to know Him.

First John 3:20-22,  tells us that we have confidence toward God when we do the things that are pleasing in His sight. If we only serve God half-heartedly, then we will not have confidence in Him to deliver us from trouble. When danger surrounds us, instead of being filled with faith, we'll find ourselves paralyzed with fear.

Love and serve God with your whole heart. Walk closely with Him in the good times. Then, when you need Him to be your Deliverer, you'll know without a doubt you can trust Him to care for you!

This message is too powerful to pass up!! Praise God!!

Live Like Jesus

"But [Christ Jesus] made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men."   (Philippians 2:7)

The truth of this verse hasn't really dawned on most people. They mistakenly think that Jesus was able to work wonders, to perform miracles, and to live above sin because He had divine powers that we don't have. Thus, they have never really aspired to live like He lived.

"Oh my," they say with great humility, "I could never live like Jesus did. After all, He had an advantage. He was God!"

They don't realize that when Jesus came to earth, He voluntarily gave up that advantage, living His life here not as God but as a man. He had no innate supernatural powers. He had no ability to perform miracles until after He was anointed by the Holy Spirit as recorded in Luke 3:22. He worked wonders, not by His own power but by the power of the Father, saying, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works" (John
14:10).

And when He prayed, He prayed not as a divine One who had authority as God, but as a man who walked obediently with God. And, as Hebrews 5:7 says, "His prayers were heard not because of His deity, but because of His reverence toward God" (AMP).

Jesus, the divine Son of God, set aside the privileges and powers of deity for a time and lived as a man on earth. Once you grasp that, it will absolutely thrill your soul! Why? Because it means that you, as a reborn child of God, filled with the same Holy Spirit as Jesus was, have the same opportunity to live as He lived on earth. In fact, that is exactly what He intends. In John 17:18 He said to the Father, "Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world."

Jesus has sent you into the world to live as He lived. Through the new birth, He's enabled you to exchange the sinful nature of Adam for the sinless nature of God.

He's given you the ability and the command to live above sin, to live in fellowship with the Father, to preach the gospel, to heal the sick, to raise the dead, to cast out demons, and to make disciples.

Once you realize that, you'll throw off the shackles of doubt that have held you back. You'll begin to live as Jesus meant for you to live--not as a sin-ridden son of fallen man, but as a reborn child of the Most High God. Then those around you will actually begin to see Jesus--in you.

Don't Be Stony Ground

"And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended."  (Mark 4:16-17)

There seems to be an abundance of "stony ground" Christians these days. Initially, they get excited about the Word of God. They'll hear a message on prosperity, for instance, and they'll go home saying, "Hallelujah! I'm going to prosper in the Name of Jesus!" But then, somehow, things don't work out like they thought they should.

Their bank balance doesn't double overnight. They go through some disappointments. They suffer some criticism. Then, before you know it, their faith has withered away.

If you don't want that to happen to you, make up your mind right now that you're not going to let the rough times defeat you. Decide now that you're going to hang onto the Word even when the persecutions and afflictions come--because, I can guarantee you, they will come.

When you decide to walk by faith, you don't get rid of trials. You learn to overcome them.

When you let the Word of God get down into your heart, you're going to learn more about the devil than you ever wanted to know because he's going to do his best to see to it that the Word is unfruitful in you. He's going to be trying to mess you up every time you turn around. You'll have problems, but the difference is now you have the answer--the Word of God.

Thank God, however, through Christ Jesus you have the power to defeat Satan. When he brings problems and disappointments your way, you don't have to lie down and let them steam roll over you. Just keep fighting the good fight of faith until you win.

If you get knocked down, get back up and say, "Look here, devil, I'm not going to let you steal the Word out of my heart. It's in there and I'm meditating on it; I'm saying it with my mouth; and I'm acting on it until God's blessings overtake me. If you don't believe me, just hide and watch!"

If you'll take that attitude, no matter what that devil does, he'll
never make a "stony ground" Christian out of you!

‘And have no root in themselves?/FONT> and herein lays the problem.

The word of god is always a good seed. It will grow only in good soil

It cannot grow in a heart of disbelief. A few years back there was a sprouting of ?name it and clam it”?“Blab it and grab it?type of teaching going on. Of course this was shorted out very soon because it simply did not work. Jesus did say we could have what so ever we say…but the root of this verse is ?and shall not doubt in his heart?so it is evident that what brings good result of the word is “believe that ye receive and not doubt in your heart?is the only way.

When one lets God be God in their life regardless of the storms and pit-falls, then they

Will know that they have ‘root in themselves?and God can and will work great things in our life. God is God in my life if I never get another bill paid, he is still God if I never regain my full health…because I have rooted myself in him. I can do all things. I, like Paul have learned that whether I have little or much God can get me through.

And to me this is much more priceless then the finest things this world has to offer.
