Dear Norma: I know you have been busy with all the changes in your life, but I do need to tell you that my youngest son, Owen, age 50 was killed on Sunday Dec. 28th. This is Tammie's husband and the father of my two grandchildren.
We got him through riding that old Harley he used to have and last summer he and Zane bought motorcycles. Zane rode his to work about 45 miles from home. Owen rode his after work- cleared his head and gave him a lot of satisfaction. They both wore their helmets, etc.
That Sunday he had been working all day in their barn and decided on a ride, about 3 miles from their house he slid into this curve. It broke his neck.
We had a beautiful service here at the Downtown Church of Christ on Dec.30th and On Dec. 31st we buried him in the Holft Cemetery in San Saba County. I had bought 4 plots at Mother and Daddy's and Jack and my plot jut aat the foot of these plots. Owen is buried at his Daddy's feet.
Tammie is bing so strong, but I found out last night she was not sleeping in their bed. She is sleeping in Owen's new leather chair.
Go to McNett Funeral Home (mcnettfuneralhome.com) and get the obituray for the Gober News. Owen loved the Gobers and our ranch in San Saba County. He and Tammie had been going down there alot recently since I gave what I inherited from Daddy to my two boys, Randall and Owen.
Thank Goodness, Randall and Sandra were here for the holidays. He is working in Muscat, Oman. He is 53 years old today, and they will be going back on Jan. 15.
I can hardly see to type. Sometimes it really hits me hard. You are supposed die before your children. I hope you can retrieve the obit from that web site.
With cousinly love, Yvonne Gober Cook
