This is a song I wrote today.  I had a dream of the words and I tried to write it down before I forgot it.

I've been here crying for all these countless days

I've been in this pit of darkness deeper than this valley

I've been tossed to shore by the ocean's waves

These addictions and depressions are

Breaking me down,

Oppressing me.

 

 

Will anybody ever find me?

God, where are You now?

Was I forsaken?  Was I forgotten?

Or am I mistaken?

 

Oh, Jesus I am so scared

I feel so alone

And as I lay in darkness crying,

I reach out my hand for You to hold.

 

This fear is so paralyizing, so immobizing,

And without realizing,

I scream out Your Name

In the moments of my pain

In the center of my fear

In the stillness of the silence

I now know why the caged bird sings

Those who are free in Christ are free indeed!!!!

 

There more He spoke His word to me,

The more I believed;

"Child, do not be afraid for I give you joy and peace as your strength!

You are not forgotten and

You are not forsaken,

But, yes, you are mistaken

Because I've already set you free!!!!"
