      It was late at night on the earth below,
                  When the Father said, "Son, it is time now to go;
                   The virgin is ready to bring You to birth,
                   It's time to begin Your journey on earth."

                   The Son stepped down from His throne of gold,
                   Removed His crown, and with voice strong and bold
                   He said, "I am ready Your will to be done!"
                   And then He left Heaven - God's only Son.

                   And shepherds looked up at a noise in the sky,
                   Astonished to see hosts of angels on high.
                   The angels were singing "Hosanna to Him,
                   Hosanna and praise to the newborn King!

                   A baby's been born, He is God's only Son,
                   He's come to the earth to save man each one!"
                   And from then 'til this day, men still speak in awe
                   Of this Child, Son of God, Who those shepherds saw.
