My Granny
By Diana (Sissy) Morgan
October 1, 2003

I am the Grandaughter of Nettie Mae Gober Lawson my father is her third son Homer Joseph Lawson.
I really don't know where to start about how wonderful she is. I will start with that she has always treated us grandchildren equal she has enough love to go around. Even though we have always lived so far apart she has never forgotten a holiday or birthday. She is a gentle lady but believe me she can be tuff with discipline also. She puts the lord first and formost in her live and bestilled him in the lives of her children and grandchildren she is the reason we are what we are today.
As a child my best memories are of when she would come for visits she would read to my little brother and me, we would all sit at the table and play a game of some sort and we would go out for walks. If we got into trouble she didn't mind taking a switch to us either and now as a mother myself I know she did it because she loves us and wanted us to be good people.
Nettie Mae is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside I am proud to say that she is my Grandmother.
I also remember her voice my grandmother can sing like an angel I loved to hear her sing when she came to visit or we went to visit we always recorded an tape or two of her singing and at bedtime I would go to sleep listening to her and my Daddy and uncles singing together.

I love you Granny. Sissy
