Praise in prayer is when I lift up my heart to God to praise Him and commune with Him. To pray to God is to praise Him. Praise in prayer need not always be expressed in words. There is a place for silence in coming before God. We praise Him when we simply wait silently before Him. " Be still and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10) " The earth be silent before Him." Habakkuk 2:20) God hears without words. Through silence we may talk to Him because God can read our hearts more easily than we can read a book. God hears even when we do not put our feelings into words.
We praise God through silence when we accept His discipline. We praise Him when we do not complain of justify ourselves. we keep silent before Him knowing that He is the One who has dealt with us and that all His dealings are just and merciful.Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with every spititual blessing in Christ.
My Prayer
Forgive me Lord, that often my prayers have been all asking, with too little praising and thanking You. I do want to praise You as I ought to in my prayers. Help me fix my eyes upon You and all that you have become to me in Jesus Christ. Teach me when to be silent before You and when to speak. Open my eyes daily as I read Your Word to know the truth about myself so that I can praise You more. I ask in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ.Amen
