Lord, I wish to be your ever-faithful, ever-joyful servant. That is the cry of my heart today. But Lord there are times when I miss it - frail human that I am - and I lose the joy, so God, forgive me for my times of disobedience, and remind me that in my obedience comes my joy, and my in joy comes my strength, and so, as I know You and Your word more deeply, so will my joy and strength increase.
Yes Lord! The desire of my heart is Your indestructible peace and joy. Only in You can I achieve this, the world cannot offer it.
Lord I now determine in my heart to obey You, even when it's hard; to endure what you ask to obtain and receive Your promises, even though it may seem impossible to die to myself daily to follow You. I want to love my enemies and to pray unceasingly, and to always remember to thank You for Your many daily blessings.
