"Worms"
Everybody hates me.
Nobody loves me.
I think I'll go to the garden and eat some worms.
The first one went down easy.
The second went down greasy.
The third got tangled in my throat, Oh, Oh, O O O
Oozy, Oozy worms....
"In The Slough Of Despond"
"In the Slough of Despond" is an often quoted phrase from Pilgrim's Progress. The Slough of Despond was a deep quagmire which Christian, the Pilgrim, had to cross.
When we were kids we sung the icky, slimy, sleazy, greasy worm song to anyone who was feeling desponent, mostly to other kids. Usually because they thought they were not liked by their peers, and did not know what to do about it. Everybody sooner or later falls into the "Slough of Despond."
Actually, everybody is quite good at getting along with other people, because our ancestors have practiced this for a million years. It is in your genes. If this was not the case, it would not bother you if you couldn't get along with others.
The system our ancestors developed is called manners. Good manners are ways to aviod bothering other people.
There is no such thing as a dork. "Dork" is a peer presure word. Poeple with good manners do no tuse this word or even acknowledge it's use because it is designed to offend somebody. People who choose not to offend by using good manners have class. Good manners come naturally, they are in your genes.
"Class" is held in high regard. People with class are copied by others. Jesus taught class from His first breath to His last one. You can teach it, too, as other people see you using good manners.
Some people can't climb out by themselves,, so don't throw them into the "Slough", you may just have to jump in to save them, and get one of those "worms" cought in your throat!
