MICHAEL MY SON

by Shirley

Have you seen my son Michael?

He's a special kind of guy.

He's tall, darkened by the sun and handsome,

Worth more than money could buy.

You should really get to know him,

He's sensitivie, tender and kind,

Probably more son in this day and age,

Than you could ever find.

He's a man you'd want around if ever you needed a friend,

Always there with an encouraging word,

And the heart to lend a helping hand.

Sometimes his advice is surprising,

And his determination has to be a gift,

He's right more times than not,

And just his presence is a lift.

He stayed near when I was crying,

At times, we laughed till we rolled on the floor,

But, never, no never, did he shut me out of his heart,

Walk out and slam the door.

Thank you God for seeing my son, before the world began,

Knowing I would need him here,

To be that part of You that tells me,

Your love prevails over every fear.

When I see Your victory come alive,

In this man, Michael, my son--

I'm reminded my life was not in vain,

And Your Kingdom has already won!

Dear Betty,

I am going to have the greatest time being a part of GrannysPlace.  I love it!
God has led me to the right group.  I think all of us writers can relate to the fact that we do need feedback and encouragement for the words we pour our heart into.

It is a wonderful plus to be able to know something about you and your sister Redda.
I feel a close connection from sharing a part of your life with you. I have a sister also that I grew up with and will post, one day soon, a story I wrote titled "Sisters".

God bless you, Betty & Redda, I feel I have found  friends to enhance the retirement years of my life.

Love,
Shirley

Oh Shirley, how precious.  It reminds me so much of my own son Max, he is a darling.  He just turned 35, and he is very much like my dad and his own dad, in that he is gentle and kind, generous and loving.  He is still single, probably due to a broken engagement that devastated him, but I know the right girl will come along one day.  Max is my eldest child, and he had two sisters, Tania is the mother of my three wonderful grandchildren, Hayley died when she was seven.

Please keep your poems and writings posted, they are great reading, and point us always to the Lord, which is how it should be.

Love and hugs, Eilleen

Well, you are quite a writer yourself, Eilleen.  Oh, there is nothing like a wonderful son you can count on and trust.
Shirley
