This tutorial will take you through the steps of adding backgrounds and borders to posting to "Dress-Up" your messages.  Some people (tutorials) like having 2 windows open, but for now I only use 1 window.

Note:  If you only want a color background, start at "Step 2."
Step 1:  Find the background in one of our albums, and click on the one you choose to open it to the larger size.  Now "right click" on the on the picture and choose "properties." (A gray box will appear).  Place your curser over the URL (address) and "right click", choose "select all" (it will see that the address is highlighted in blue or green), then "right click" again, and choose "copy."  then click "OK" to close the gray box.

Step 2:  Open your message window (or create a new page web page, if you're a manager) and click on the little grid box on the window tool bar.  It will say "Insert Table" when you place your curser over it.  Then change the numbers in both the Column and Row box's to 1. (You can learn to use other numbers later on after you have had some practice, but for now stick with 1 in both boxe's).

Step 3.  Click on "Background" and place, and click your curser inside the the "Background Image URL" box--so that the curser is blinking in side the box.  Now press "Ctrl, and the letter 'v', (on your key board), to paste the adress of the Background you chose into the "Background URL Address" box.   Note: I you do not want a background from your album, you can start from "Step 2" and choose a color background here instead. You do that by clicking on the color you want your background to be.

Step 4.  Click on "border" and choose your border color.  If you do not want a border on your background, remember to change the "border width" to (0) zero.  Now click on "Insert Table" and your background should appear in your message window.  It will be a tiny box (table) on the window, but that is OK...it will expand as you type.  To do this place your curser inside the tiny box and start typing.   This is also the point in which you would add a picture or clip art, as you normally would.   Format the text as you normally would.  If you have any problems..just ask someone, we will help you learn!

Click on "send" and your message will be a finished, personal creation of your own!!  Enjoy!! And Remember--there is a "Golden Rose" Award for the one who post  the most..sooo POST!! POST!! POST!!

Thank you so much for putting these instructions here!  I've always wanted to know how to do more things on the computer, and now I know!  Thank you so much!  One question, though.  Can you change background color after you type message?  After adding my siggy, I felt there was too much blue?

WOW!! This looks great!! I love it!!
Hi'dy Liwilli, I'm so glad you are finding your way around the house and learning new things. It is very encouraging to me.
The only way I know to change the background color is to copy our text and then cancel the posting window, that has the unwanted color.  Then start over and when you have the background you want,,paste your text onto the new color,,or at least that is how I do it.
