Bring all the kids and meet me on "The Family Porch"  I want to share a true story about hand in the sky!!

Back in the early 50's, we lived in a house across the ally from a church (I don't know the name of the church, it was the one where Trina first married),,,anyway, I was about 9 years old then,,Tiny Sue was still a lap baby.

It was about 7pm on a nice Spring evening, just dusty dark, not a cloud in the sky.  The church was holding service this night and Mother was sitting out on our front porch rocking Tiny Sue and sing to the top of her voice.   Me, JD, Redda, and Bubba(Ron) was out in the yard, playing some yard game.

As times passed, the service at the church was going strong! We could hear people shouting, getting louder and Mother was praiseing the Lord and getting louder! Tiny Sue was sleeping through it all.
Suddenly, Mother stands up, walks to the edge of the porch. She was looking up to the sky and in a softer voice says, "You kids come here, and sit down on the porch and be quiet."  We all sit down and ask what was wrong.  Mother still had not moved from where she was standing.  The people in the church were quiet now too.  In a low calm voice she said, "Look, there is a hand in the sky above the church."  WE looked up and took in breath's, sure enough, there it was as plan as day, clear blue sky!  The hand looked as if it had been cut out of a cloud.  Very white and soft looking, with a gold glow around it.  It was like seeing a rain bow for the first time, so beautiful! So Awesome!!   I ask, "Is it Jesus, Mama?"  "No, Honey", she replied, "It is a sign from God."
Mother pulled the rocker closer to us kids, then set down. Then in words we could understand, she began telling us the Bible story in Daniel 5: of,  how a human hand suddenly appearing and writing a message on the wall of the Palace. No one could read what the hand wrote..so the King sent for Daniel, who comes and interprets the writing; " And this is the writing that was written, Me'ne, Me'ne, Te'kel, U-phar'sin", says Daniel (KJV).
I will never forget that night. Needless to say we never said a word while Mother was speaking, nor did we take our eyes off the hand and what it had written in the sky. "Number, Number, Weight, Divisions."
I remember that this message was still in the sky when we went inside to go to bed.

Now folks, I had forgotten this message in the Book of Daniel, until it showed up this past week in our Bible Quiz Game.  Then last night, Tiny Sue told me that the Lord has laid it on her heart to do a study on "The Writing On The Wall."  Let us pray for God to guide us in this teaching.  I feel that the Lord is trying to show us his words in a way that will be a blessing to us all.  Feel free to comment on the story above, or just participate where you feel lead.  God Bless!!

Hey Sis I remember this clearly. So many wonderful things we were allowed to see, in our Childhood days. Mother, Aunt NettieMae, Aunt Eve and Grandma. I remember looking for Aunt Nettie one day and could not find her(grandma had sent me to tell her something) I searched all over the house calling out her name but no answer. I went out into the back yard, I could hear her praying but I could not see her, I followed the sound of her voice. I found her sitting in the 'Chicken Coop' praying she was asking God to please let the hens lay more eggs(she had only gathered 3-4 eggs that day) The next day she came from gathering Eggs the basket was full and she had her apron stuffed with Eggs
