Greeting's From Our Family~

Carrying On The Legacy

Of

Alma Rachel Gober

April 20, 1910 ?March 29, 1988

Born at Comanche, in Comanche County, Texas ?during the horse and buggy era ?to Rufus Smith Gober and Minnie Emmaline James.

She was the fourth child, of eight children. There is only one sibling

left of these; her youngest sister ?Nettie Mae Gober Lawson of Brownwood, Texas.

Her Grandfather, Jasper Elijah Gober, a native of Mississippi came to Texas in the late 1870’s. He had nine children; Rufus was his seventh, who grew up in Texas. This is the story of his children, and how his love of God and family was handed down, generation to generation. A legacy of profound spiritual faith containing the nine characteristics of the "Fruit of the Spirit", which is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness and Temperance:…A legacy that still lives today!

This story picks up with Alma, a mother of sixteen, and how she, "dared to be different", through enduring faith. You are welcome to come inside - we want to share this awesome lady with you. Prepare to be blessed. ©Betty Rose Brown, 1-7-02

  ~My Work ~

Handmade Greeting Cards and Gifts are my personal message that "God is Love" (1 John 4:8 KJV). The Bible speaks of nine fruit of the spirit ?(Gal. 5:22-23 KJV), the first is Love.

The "S", I use in the word spirit is a symbol that my Mother (Alma Rachel Gober) used in letters she wrote to her children {7 girls & 5 boys} when speaking of the "Holy Spirit", then we knew she was praying for us. On the back of the envelopes she wrote; "Go Letter ?I Can’t". In Loving Memory of her teachings, I’m reminded my talents are a gift from God and if we remember to Love and Give, we become God’s gift to each other.

To God be the Glory. {1 Cor. 10:31 KJV}brb®

We are so glad you have come by to our little home. Our family is a large one. And this community is a place where my brother's and sister's can come and set on the porch and just visit. It's so nice on our porch. We drink coffee and share stories and have such nice fellowship.

So join us and be a blessing . Can't wait to meet you and share the love of God and the many blessing he has given our family.

~GOD BLESS~

I have used many resources in building this community.   Some animations and gifts are from public domain and others are from sites who only ask that when using their graphics we link back to them.   So if anyone sees something in this community that is their's, then just let us know and we will give proper credit to your work or remove it as you request.   To my knowledge, I do not think I have used anything that is not properly linked or credited.   But alas we all make mistakes. Below are just a few links and hope you will check them out.  They are one of the reasons we could build a community.  They helped by teaching in text.
