I know just how you feel--When I'm holding on to my guitar I feel like I'm holding on to a piece of Heaven--sigh.....Luckily my gf doesn't get jealous when she sees me caressing my guitar, off in another Universe... |

She's a beauty alright Josephine..all we non-musician types have to do..to get a vision of what it must be like to play and feel that way towards an instrument..is listen..or watch a passionate musician play. If you've ever seen or can remember Susan Sarandons' cello piece in "The Witches of Eastwick," one can visualise the sensual connection that goes can on between both musician and instrument. This connection can be further explored and understood by watching and hearing a technically perfect musician without passion play; just because one can read music doesn't make them a great musician. Compare that to a muscian who connects and 'feels' that same piece of music...and the differences are awesome. I would imagine that's why an identical piece played by two different musicians can come out sounding completely different...something new is brought out or discovered during the process. The greatest thing about music is you don't have to be able to play to get the most wonderful feeling from it..all we have to do is listen & hear. Maybe dancing is another way to get a similar connection. What a gift. |

Hey guys! I'm glad you like my hot, sexy violin. . as for her monetary worth - she is, in fact, a Strad, as confirmed by at least 5 violinists who met her in person and a few more who had pictures sent to them. The guy who I bought the piee from says that this isn't his - he picked her up at an estate sale somewhere for, like, $30 - so he tought he was getting over on me! Mwahaha! We showed him! |

hey there i was looking though the issues that came up before me and i have never come across someone who does'nt play an instrament and has that understanding of music. i think you should pick something up and give it a go as the feeling you get from playing is just as good as having a hit! honestly! i've been on heroin/meth for sixteen years now and its the only thing that can tempt me to go clean is my drums/bass guitar.go 4 it sha

Sorry Drummer I just saw this...thanks much for the inspiration. I have picked up a few instruments in my time..actually there seems to be drummers in my family..and a few guitar players. My grand-dad..father and more than a few cousins all play the drums. Now that I think of it..if I dated a musician..they too were all drummers. I wonder if that means anything (3 of them..at different times of course). But..I have to say I have no natural gift for playing an instrument..my brain says one thing..my fingers do another. Maybe I try too hard by forgetting to relax and just let it flooooow.. Piano has always been the one I liked the most..so much range I guess..and I think there are two things most women have in common (well, much more than two)..but in the 'romantic' wish list type category. They all would love to ride horses and play the piano. Most that I've known anyway. It may be something in our genetic memories..or a lot of the romance novels we've read..lol..ah I don't know..just a thought. Anyway...I think I will give the keyboards another try as you so sweetly suggested..I have one stuck in the back of a closet..you know one of those electric kinds. If only to 'get out' whatever's been locked in there all these years. Kind of a tension & release musical programm. Take care and again..thanks for the words of encouragment. Keep on drummin.. Later Sha |

Wanted to ask last night but I forgot..do you play in a band.. or are you a solo artist? From Scotland too..looks like such a gorgeous country with a history chalk full of romantic tales and . You're on the North Sea and close to Stonehaven if I remember correctly...maybe 20-30 clicks away. Besides Israel..Scotland and Ireland are the 2 countries I must (fingers crossed), visit before I pass on. Especially Stonehenge..Merlin..the lands of King Arthur and beyond. Like tons of people I am pulled to it...guess you hear that all the time eh (pronounced as a long A)..lol. Have you been and if so what was your experience if you care to share. Haven't seen many posts from you so I hope you check in from time to time..would love to hear a locals perspective..and naything else you have to say of course. Take care.. Sha |
