Hi Ladies'
My thoughts are with you & your knees Ann. I've seen so many people with a postive attitude after there knee or hip operations manage just fine. And I've noticed every one of them because of my mother's poor attitude.
Red, you sure hit the nail on the head there about my mother. I've counted twenty one pills & potions. I managed to shower her myself yesterday. It was a shocking site but I'll get over that, and probably a good lesson for me to not follow in her footsteps. When she's at home she has someone come in three days a week to do it.  She's just turned 75, but been sleeping heaps for as long as I can remember.
What state are you in, Ken was asking are you in a red neck state.
Tiffany is hoping to start a summer job on Tuesday at the tegel chicken factory which is not too far away. Doing the kebabs and crumbing. They actually kill the chickens there and it's in the city.
Our elections are tomorrow and Mum is voting our way so I said I'd take her with us to the local school to vote. If she was on the wrong side Ken would surely have left her here at home. Ha!
As for Tiffany and Ken's bet on the American elections, she won so gets to buy the book of her choice and has been told to chose carefully and make it a good one.
It's about time we heard from Libabs, Sweet & Yvette. Won't be long till Tigger gets back I suppose. Oh the lucky girl.
There's a cricket test on in Queenstown in March so I've booked the accommodation and Ken said get yourself booked in for your tattoo while we're there. Gulp! You're not leaving me alone with a tattooist while you watch the Cricket. He wants me to do it, so that he can get another one and I don't want him to.

Morning LadiesWent to have a pre op: this morning where they tested my heart and various other things. Oh yes and weighed me My blood tests came back O.K. so its all on for the 12th.  Don't know about a positive attitude farmeress, just a "get on with it" type.  It needs to be done, I was silly enough to fall down those steps, and now i have to get on with it.  Its my British up bringing, if you break one leg don't complain, you've got another "hop"

75 isn't that old farmeress for your mother, she should be like Cloris leachman in Dancing with the stars she is 82.  To-day I went to a lunch with Ruth Pretty.  She was promoting her new cook book.  I bought one to send to my friend in England for her Birthday and Ruth wrote a little personal message inside it for her.  There was a lady there at our table, she looked very nice, turned out she was 82!  My friend and I were amazed and thought there was hope for us in the future She was very bright and was quite amusing.  she certainly did not look her age.  She had a red jacket on and looked very smart.

Driving home a snow/hail storm hit us, the road was so deep in it you could not see the white lines down the middle of the road so we all did a snail pace and then the lightening and thunder started so that was fun  Still I go home safely

Now the American voteing is all over it is our turn to "turn out" Our voteing day is tomorrow.  Won't go too early, its being saturday and a read of the papers is called for first!!

The lady was supposed to come to measure up for our torn net curtains to-day, but phoned she will now come to-morrow, I do hope she does Lucy really did make a mess of them, and I am sure you can see that they are torn from outside

I have spoken to my friend who lost her son Yesterday.  How hard for her to have to turn off the machine.  I cannot imagine the pain.  The police are involved as it was all so sudden, one minuite a big strong lad the next in hospital unable to move.  They are also insisting on an autopsy.  Her son's body will only be returned when all this is done.

I am off to watch Coronation Street now.  Hello Yvette hope you have had a good day.  Tigs we miss you.Red look after yourself

At least the evening is brightening up now the storm is over.

Good morning ladies,

GOod to know everything is coming together for your upcoming surgery Ann.  My thoughts will definitely be with you on the 12th, and my prayers as well.  I know as fiesty as you seem to be that you will be back dancing the jig in no time. We women are tough!!

I am not familiar with Ruth Petty, I should google her, lol.  If I think about it when I am done here, I shall. How nice of her to autograph your friends book for her.

How terrible your friend had to make such a decision about her own son.  Lord gives us strength for such things, but I cannot imagine having to make such a decision.  God Bless her.  I pray she has peace with her decision. How awful to have something like that tormenting you.

Good job TIffany!  What book will she choose?  It's funny that you all know so much about our elections from your news, because I rarely hear about anything in your neck of the woods.  I suppose I could find the information, but I would have to deliberately look for it, know what I mean. If Obama gets just one thing fixed while he has his upcoming 4 years, I am sure he will get another 4 just because the public likes him so much. He is very charasmatic to listen to.

WIll you be getting your tattoo Farmeress?  I want a pic!  I hope you do!!!!  We can be tat sisters, lol.

I am off the next 2 days. We took Mike last night and trained him  a bit and tonight he will work with Tim.  What will I do with 2 days off??  The weather is certainlky nice enough to do whatever I decide,  outside I would say it is a beautiful Indian Summer.  Hope it lasts.

All this talk about Coronation Street, makes me curious.  Seems as though all you ladies watch it, must be like the Desperate Housewives show we have here? I am guessing.  I don't watch that either, lol I am NOT a fan of soap operas, or a show I must see every week. Although I do love my House episodes, but those kind of shows run repeats, so I could hardly ever miss one now could I?  lol

I think I will BBQ some chicken on the grill tonight.  Mike, (Tims friend) that has come to stay with us, is a very odd lad. He has very odd eating habits, and I am afraid he will loose some weight her, as her only eats hot dogs, and mac and cheese. Chicken nuggets, potatoe chips.  Last night we had pork chops, with mashed /gravy, corn and peas, and he didn't like anything. He had a can of spaghetti o's.  THe boy had never had mashed potatoes???  I cannot believe that. I am not catering to his picky appetite, I told him he is on his own.  The rest of us eat normally, and personally I think it is his way of getting extra attention. I haven't said that to  anyone, as I don't know him well,  but we will see if I am right.  TIm had always told me his mother was a good cook when he lived there, and I know he had mashed potatoes there.  Craziness.

Well I am off to tend to my laundry, I am sure the dryer has stopped by now.  Have a nice day!!!
