I have a new cleaning job today.  I'm a little nervous.  I priced it low - $15 an hour - because she wants spring cleaning so I couldn't price it "per job," I had to go per hour.   And she is an acquaintance from Utz - the receptionist there - that's the potato chip factory I used to clean.  I usually make about $22 or more per hour, even counting travel time.  Based on the two houses I clean.  But the yucky house I hated to clean was only about $12 an hour after travel and this one will be much better.  She has a pretty house and wants me to take it apart and clean it starting with the kitchen today.  I want to do a good job but I also will feel funny if I only get the kitchen done in 5 hours today - that would be $75 for just the kitchen.  She said if I get done in there to wash her family room floor so at least it sounds like if I don't get that far she's okay with it.  Anyway you guys know I enjoy deep down cleaning way more than fruu fruu dusting so it will be more pleasant than the yucky house I did.  And she is supplying all of her own supplies (altho I'll still be taking a bunch of stuff just in case, especially tools and paper towels and stuff).  She uses all Shackley products which I think are more safe so I won't substitute unless I have to.  Scott thinks I undersell myself but $15 an hour is almost twice what I made at McDonald's for a much better job and we REALLY need the money so if I can go make $75 today and she likes what I did and has me back every other week like she said she might, that would be awesome.

My keyboard is sticky - we made candy apples last night and I was eating the leftover shell after we cooled it on plates.  I didn't bother with the apple lol.  Very good -like barley candy almost.  But I got some on the keyboard and everywhere I walk upstairs there are sticky spots!

I'm going to do 5 hours there today so if I can get there by 8:30 I can leave by 1:30 which will give me time for a quick shower before I have to take the kids to their Rocky appointment at 4.  Ugh I just realized that even with working there for 5 hours it won't even pay for their appointment fee of $85!  Those are the kinds of thoughts that get me way down so I need to stop thinking of it that way.

I hope the new cleaning job goes well! Would you be able to raise the price a little bit after doing this initial cleaning or would you keep it at $15/hr?

Mmm, I used to love candy apples as a kid. I'm not sure what happened. I bet the candy stuff tastes like these maple syrup candies I got from the bulk barn. mmmm

I'm having a rough emotional time as well. I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe the overwhelming feeling of getting the new house and knowing we're tied to that. I dont' think Emily turning 8 would make me emotional but maybe it has just added to it. I'm definitely feeling very unmotivated which is actually ticking me off cause I have a lot to be excited about and getting the new house is exciting. But, it just feels like this huge, overwhelming task. I think because I want EVERYTHING to look perfect with the house but unless we want to blow a ton of money replacing everything that we don't like, it won't happen. The stupid thing is, it's not really because of me or my family that I want these things done. It's because when we host bible study, I don't want people to look down at the tacky stuff that we'll be holding onto until we can slowly replace it. How dumb is that?!?! Augh.

Your new kitty sounds adorable!!! My childhood cat was named Angel (she was black. lol)

Sorry your date day didn't turn out exactly as planned but still sounds like a good day/night :)

Yeah, I most definitely don't want something too white-ish. Actually, I'm hoping to find a few more colour samples. I dont' want it to be too brown either. Good to know about the dark room... I'm definitely going to make sure there's lots of light accents. I think I'll paint the closet doors a light colour but I'm not sure what yet... I might actually use the yellow that will be in the bathroom.

I'm stressing out about money and feel like we should just ignore painting. I know I'll kick myself if we did skip that but I just don't want to spend ANY money and it's partially to get 'back' at dh who seems to have an attitude of freely spending (yet isn't out of control, just isn't spending nothing like I'd like him to.)

Augh, I'm just feeling really blah today. I need to keep myself busy... going to make a list (unlike I didn't yesterday! LOL)

Man, I'm wiped. I feel like I've been standing all day and yet I sat on my butt a good chunk of the time.

I'm in a very irritated, bad mood and just want to tell everyone to go away. Not a good thing when I haven't even picked up the kids from school and it's only Delaney and Timmy at home with me.

So, we've got the key.... I find it odd that we only got one key. But, ah well. We're going to either install a new deadbolt or re-key the locks by the week-end.

I brought over some toys and a bunch of cleaning stuff that I can leave there. There's so many minor details to deal with. augh There's so much white ceramic tile. AHHH And, they liked to add decorative tile here and there. Wouldn't be so bad if it was NICE decorative tile but it's tacky stuff like ugly fruit, sailboats, ugly flowers. blech.

We started ripping down some border (the good thing about these people being sucky at home repair/decorative stuff is that the border is REALLY easy to peel off!) I started ripping out some shelf liner stuff as well. I ripped it out from under the main floor bathroom and wiped out that cupboard really well so I could put in the toilet paper and kleenex I brought over.

I said hi to our new neighbours... but that's it. lol They came home when I was loading the kids into the van and unloading a few other things I brought over. It was somewhat awkward... I think they were waiting for me to say more but I didn't know what to say. Plus, it was raining and dark and they were carrying in groceries. At least they said hi and were friendly enough there!

I'm either getting used to the curry smell or we did a good job of airing it out. I'm thinking a combo of both.

Anyway, I somehow survived the day. Actually, can't say that yet as all 3 kids are awake and my house is trashed.

Going to get D and T's jammies on while Em does home reading. I think I'll put on mine too. I can pick out their clothes for tomorrow too. Off I go... dragging my butt.

Well, I think the morning sickness is somewhat lifting. I'm getting more energy which is probably why I feel like I've been on my feet all day, cause I'm doing more. Compared to the avg. person, it's nothing but compared to what I WAS doing, it's a ton! lol I may actually keep up with dishes! (I won't mention that I still have to wash out the roasting pan from our turkey on MONDAY. yuck yuck yuck)

I made up a list for now... I'm realizing I'm so beat once the kids are in bed that I'm not getting anything done since I leave it all til then. So, I'm trying to do more while my kids are busy with the daycare kids after school (cause all the kids are older, they don't want to be entertained by me so as long as I'm doing things in the same room as them, I think it's ok.)

I want supper done asap. Timmy is sleeping so this is perfect time to get moving. I only have Maddie here and she's playing with my girls upstairs (a no-no but Maddie is more a friend than a daycare kid so I let them, especially since she's the only one here righ tnow.)

Going to finish with the dishes and get moving as I feel my energy draining the longer I sit here.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much Sara.  I did manage to post my menu but otherwise I've been a waste.  I am sinking into a major depression again.  I've been off my meds until I go to the doctor on the 29th but they called today to change it to November 26, almost a month later.  I can't stand it.  Something needs to change.  I spent a good long time today thinking about dying.  I read Family Fun magazine and all I got from it what that I'm a terrible parent because I never do anything good with my kids.  And it's not just that - I'm down about everything.  At least I know it's mostly chemical.  I'm just hating myself a lot.  I think I cried at least 3 times today for no reason - just started crying.  Anyway that's where I am right now - hopefully I'll be back up to speed soon.  I don't know - I think I'll go back on my old meds.  Luckily I had a workshop to attend tonight or I probably would have been in bed when Scott got home.  Outside structure helps.

Did you already settle on your house?  You got your keys so does that mean you closed on your loan?  I'm glad you're feeling better.  BTW You are lucky w/the border - usually when people put those up improperly they're impossible to get down because they don't "size" them properly.  Not sure what sizing means but it's something you do to prep the surface.  So either they actually did put the border up correctly or you got lucky! :-)  Also you may want to look on the internet to see about painting the ceramic tile.  You wouldn't want to do it on floors I don't think, or in a shower but I think if you paint it elsewhere and use the right paint and method you could do something like paint every decorative tile a solid color and maybe that wouldn't look so bad.  Or just replace the decorative tiles - tiling isn't hard. You can chip off the old tile and put a new one on altho the grout might not be easy to match.  Look on DIY sites on the internet and I bet you can find some ideas.  I hate tiled counters and walls and can't imagine trying to clean all that grout but I've heard that it adds value to a house and a lot of people like it.

I don't care what they say in here, I wouldn't paint floor tiles but here's info on painting other tiles:

Aw, I hope you can get on your meds asap. You definitely don't sound like you.

No, we most definitely aren't settled in! lol We got the keys Wed. so yes, the loan went through, everything is good, papers signed, etc. So, the house is OURS!! We have this rental house until the 31st so we're taking our time getting the new house ready. We're painting and dealing with the grease covered kitchen. Augh, these people were NOT perfectionists in the least. And, they liked greasy, curry food. yuck. So, we've got A LOT of work to do and it has to be done this week-end.

Our moving date is Oct. 25th. I think we'll hand over the keys for the rental early so they can paint, etc but at least we can get all our stuff over and then have a few days to come back and clean up this place and make sure we didn't leave anything behind. It's a 2 min drive, if that, between the 2 houses so that's REALLY nice. Every trip I take to the new house, I try to bring loose stuff that would be difficult to pack so that's helping.

I think we're just going to ignore the tile for now. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't all white or white with yucky green swirls in it or tacky decorative stuff (or mismatched.) Plus, 2 of the bathrooms have tile 6 feet up the wall! The downstairs bathroom is just disaster zone and because they must keep that door closed all the time, it's VERY musty smelling. It has a stand up shower in it. We'll eventually deal with it but for now, painting the walls is our biggest concern.

I was toast last night... we went to Home Depot and spent $400 on paint and supplies! ack. The sad thing is, I think we'll need at least 3 more cans and likely more rollers. Plus, that's not including replacing any of the cracked or painted outlet/switch covers (pretty much ALL of them are one or the other) or any trim (which we'll likely ignore for now but will want to fix or replace in some spots later.)

There's just so much to do!! AHH And, it's hard to know what should be done NOW or what we should live with and put on our wish list to do.

Oh, yeah, I was toast... I was a zombie, walking around the house at 7, trying to figure out paint stuff and then we spent an hour at Home Depot... the kids were bad but it was past their bedtime so really, that was to be expected. I waited in the van with them but dh took at least 1/2 hr, waiting for our paint to be mixed and paying for stuff. He's so pumped and excited and I'm so beat... he can't understand why I'm not bouncing off th ewalls, wanting to get this done. Uh, because I have no energy and am on my feet a good portion of the day?!?

My kitchen is actually looking decent, finally! I'm hoping to keep on top of things and do a few smaller things so that I can have a clean house. I need to figure out what we're eating tonight and I'm planning on ham in the cp for tomorrow (it can heat up while we're dealing with stuff at th enew house and then have small group, 3-5ish.) I need to look up the recipe for hash brown casserole. And, think up what the rest of my family can have cause I think I'm the only one who likes it! lol I should get buns and ham for lunch tomorrow too.. hmm, ham for both meals!? lol Ah well.

I NEED to make sure I'm drinking 2 L of water.. I think I barely drink a glass a day now. Augh. No wonder I'm sluggish.

Ok, gotta get us ready for the park. Delaney is home today (not her school day) and Timmy so we're going to brave the cold (but sunny!) and meet a friend at the park. She has blinds that don't fit her windows that actually fit the 2 small bedrooms at the new place perfectly!!! I'm so excited! I still want to do curtains as well but at least having those up will buy me some time and save lots of money. yay! I need to get the grocery store so I'm going to try to make up the menu for next week (and this week-end) and a shopping list. One of the pricier grocery stores actually has the best deals this week. They have the best produce as well plus they have my fav. white kraft dinner stuff. I'm going to avoid going to another grocery store to get some staples because I think I'd actually spend more money than what I'd save, going to a cheaper store (cause I'd find more stuff to buy plus the produce wouldn't last as long.) So, I'll suck it up and pay 10 cents more a lb for bananas and maybe 25 cents more for eggs. lol It wont' be a big shop either.
