Barclay, our first Maine coon cat, recently celebrated his first birthday. He had a hard act to follow, our beloved ocicat Fritz, who died suddenly at three years old, but Barclay won us over instantly with his bumbling good humor and friendliness. In fact, he sometimes reminds us more of a golden retriever (yes, he does retrieve, too) than a cat. It has taken him a bit longer to impress our four year old tabby cat, Frances, who has by now almost succeeded in discouraging him from pouncing on her unexpectedly.
Barclay is a clown at heart, whose good nature and constant companionship (always at our sides, never in our laps) are a constant delight. As the photo shows, even when napping, he is poised for mischievous fun. Hugs, AngelBear7042 | |
