   M
y husband and I had been wanting a dog for five years, and since we'd just bought our first home (and didn't have a landlord to answer to anymore), we went straight to the Humane Society to find us a pooch. We took one look at this fuzzy, floppy-eared face and knew we had to have her. She must've liked us too, because after cooly ignoring another family, we knelt down at her kennel, and she came right to us. Sixteen months later, we're still amazed every day at how much we love this little girl.

Bamboo is quite a personality. She's very smart, but she's also incredibly independent (and a little stubborn sometimes). But she sits before every meal and won't start eating till we say "Okay." She gives handshakes and high-fives and will spontaneously roll over if she thinks we've got an especially good treat.

Like all dogs, Bamboo does a lot of really cute, endearing things, but one of the cutest is this: When playing tug-of-war, Bamboo often lays down flat on the hardwood floor (with the rope still in her mouth). This is her way of asking for a glide across the floor. She loves to be pulled by her rope! And when she's being pulled along in figure eights around the room, with her front paws by her tucked belly, she looks just like a little seal. Simply adorable.

Bamboo's favorite thing is probably her trips to the dog park, where she can run and play to her heart's content. She loves every dog and person she meets! These are just a few of the reasons we love our little Bamboo! We hope you'll like her too. Hugs, AngelBear7042
