 Today's Dog
Thunder, the Dog of the Day
Name: Thunder
Age: Ten years old
Gender: Male Breed: Rough Collie
Home: Dayspring, Nova Scotia, Canada

   T
his is my home bred boy Thunder. He is a rough blue merle collie. Thunder is the last of my own breeding. He has been a faithful companion and show dog (obedience) and was also a therapy dog for many years. As his therapy work, he spent time visiting the aged and homes for special care and the veterans unit. People's faces would just glow when he came to see them. He is a "velcro dog" and is anywhere I am. He is very quiet, loveable and cuddly. He was born on June 27, 1998. He still loves to play but is not able to keep up with the others anymore so he just barks at them!

Six years ago, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. To me, this was a death sentence. I went to the park every day and sat on a bench and cried and cried. Thunder was always right beside me with his head in my lap, giving me courage, day after day. He stuck very close to me and pined when I went in the hospital. I survived and I thank my darling Thunder for helping me to get through that very rough time.

Love & Hugs,

AngelBear7042
