See in Community feedback who have investigated the initial post from a member Basics for those who cant view that post:- The service is to close on February 21, 2009. Groups may be used until that day, but afterwards, no content can be added. MSN has partnered with Multiply, a media group service, in order to create a migration process geared towards preserving the online community and it's history. In addition, a new service, Windows Live Groups, will be launching on November 17, 2008 Exisiting customers will have three options for moving groups to a new service:
1. You may automatically move your group to Multiply. This option is free and easy to use. You may move the content of your group and invite members to join your group on that service 2. To start from scratch using another service. However, we recommend using the automatic transfer to Multiply. This will afford an easy transition and allow your group members to continue to enjoy the community you have created 3. To start from scratch using Windows Live Groups. In order to expand our available services, Windows Live will be launching Windows Live Groups to the public on November 17, 2008
(this below was sent to one of my assistant managers when she question the CLOSING DOWN of MSN groups!) Thank you for writing to MSN Groups Technical Support. My name is Alvin. I will try to address your questions to the best of my ability. I realize how important MSN Groups is to you and I appreciate that you've written to us regarding your concerns. Change is coming As you may have noticed we've made considerable investments across MSN and Windows Live to enhance your product experience while aligning our online services brands. As we make new product investments, our intention is to offer new products and capabilities while keeping you connected to your online network. For now, unfortunately, I cannot give specifics about the new products and updates we have in the works. We will however be communicating updates in the near future so definitely be on the look-out for those. Any important announcements from Microsoft about MSN Groups will be posted at the MSN Groups homepage (http://groups.msn.com). In the near future, we hope to provide you with more information and establish communication channels through which you can provide feedback. We appreciate your continued support as we strive to provide you with the highest quality service available. Thank you for using MSN Groups. Sincerely, Alvin MSN Groups Technical Support |

I don't know how the manager did it, and I don't think she transferred all the group history, but here's the link to the main page |

Hmmm, I did not like the Multiply site, so I deleted myself from that. Then I joined my old group just to stay connected at Yuku. It forced me to have a page kinda like Facebook (don't like that aspect as I am trying to limit my computer usage lately), but I can't for the life of me figure out how to work it like a group works.... Simply, how do I find the people who moved over there, the threads???? The group is simply not around any where I can figure out. |

I'm proud of ya Tell, not many men will admit they need extensions... I got fed up trying all the different sites, they all seem to have good and bad bits, and I haven't found one yet that's got the compromise of good/bad as MSN has done here... We've got a couple of months yet. As things stand now, I think we have to migrate the group to Multiply. Even if we don't use the group there it will be archived for us. As Moonie pointed out, there is no point rushing to do that right now... Besides, I might just come up wiv summat meself... |

Don't know if it's been suggested before (didn't go back thru all the posts here) but what about creating our own website, i.e. www.NotForTheWeakAtHeart.com? Couldn't something like that be set up to have all the features we have here, plus or minus some? |

I am seriously considering Aimoo as you can "mugrate" your MSN Group there. It only "archives" it (which means you can't continue to add to it), but you don't lose your old discussions that way & can link to it from wherever you set up. Here's an example of what an MSN Group migrated & archived @ Aimoo looks like: |
