that particular Dr happens to be our least favorite of all (as you can imagine). Not only did the whole surgery "mishap" occurred, but even at her after surgery appt he didn't even bother to check his work.. (nevermind his office charge was $183)..
On top of that, days go by w/ out a call being returned... if ever.
Friday morning I had to go to his office to pick up a written presciption (the kind they can't call in). It was supposed to be there at the front desk when I got there, but of course it wasn't. They had to call the Dr (who was out) and get the OK from him to be sure if that's what he wanted to still give her. Finally, over 1 1/2 later I head to the pharmacy w/ written script in hand.
Only to get there and find out they can't fill the damned script because they'd forgotten to put the instructions on the script. The pharmacist said she called and left a message, but she couldn't fill it w/ out further instructions. When I hear she's left a message, I'm thinking omg.. I'll never get that prescription.. so I get on the phone and start calling the office until I actually get the right human voice to take care of the problem.
By then, I'm on my way to the office for an appt and I had to send someone else to the pharmacy to pick up the prescription much needed by then.
Only took 3 hrs to pick up pain pills... that's all. I'm wondering how anybody as sick as Janie is would be expected to go thru that sort of rigamaroe just to get the minimum of care needed.
As you can imgaine, I'm non to thrilled w/ the medical community in general. This is just one of many similiar things that I've witnessed over the past few years.
We can't help but wonder if this substandard care is because of lack of insurance and if those with insurance get better treatment.
