My baby just drove out the driveway and is on her way to Toledo to take her science, math, and spanish placement exams. I was taking her to nursery school a few short years ago ............now she honked as she drove off to college.

How the heck do you act excited for your kid when you are feeling so bummed about them leaving? I'm gonna miss the noise and the food disappearing when her friends are over, the night time trips to the bathroom. Music coming from her room. Her tearing into the house to talk about her day. I can't believe 18 years went by so fast ...................

Well the first semester is over and fall break is about to start. Is it any easier now that she been gone a while??

Well it is a bit easier now that we are used to being alone at the table and we are learning how we lived before a child came along, but as far as missing her smiles and making me laugh all the time.......It's really hard. I thought I would be over it by now. Now I got the worries of not being there to protect her and wondering if she is ok all the time LOL I guess time will help that too. Tis odd to see her room quiet and empty too. On the bright side she will be home Tuesday for Turkey Day break !!! Looking forward to that.
