My dad taught me a trade. I still make a living to this day building houses. He wasnt much on teaching life's lessons cuz he told me I would have to learn those on my own. I wouldn't have listened to him anyways. It's funny, when I was 18 I thought my dad was the dummest man on Earth. Now I look back and wish to hell that I would have listened to the things he told me. He was brilliant !!!
He did teach me sportsmanship and that a handshake was more important than a written contract, and more binding. He taught me to charge an honest price for an honest job. That has paid off more than 100 times with repeat customers. I am pushing 50 and my dad is pushing 80 so I spend almost everyday visiting with him before he's gone. I guess I'm trying to make up for the stupid things I did when I was a kid. LOL
I'm sure he taught me more than I have said, but I probably wasn't listening ...................
