I figured we could put all the stuff we get or find online here in one spot that everyone should read for safely or health so it is easily accessable to everyone and wont be accidently deleted.

I got this in my e-mail box and I was really shocked !!!

WE ARE AT RISK!! SPREAD THE WORD!
                                       (Tell all ladies you know!!!)
If you are a woman and use pads, but especially if you use tampons,  read this and pass it on to your friends. For the men receiving this email, please forward it to your friends, significant others, sisters, mothers, daughters, etc. Thanks!
Check the labels of the sanitary pads or tampons that you are going to  buy the next time and see whether you spot any of the familiar signs  stated in this email. No wonder so many women in the world suffer from cervical cancer and womb tumors. Have you heard that tampon makers  include asbestos in tampons? Why would they do this?
Because asbestos makes you bleed more, if you bleed more, you're going to need to use more. Why isn't this against the law since asbestos is so dangerous?
Because the powers that be, in all their wisdom (not), did not consider tampons as being ingested and, therefore, did not consider them illegal or dangerous.
This month's Essence magazine mentions 2 manufacturers of a cotton  tampon alternative. The companies are: Organic Essentials @ 1-800-765-6491 and Terra Femme @ 1-800-755-0212.
A woman getting her Ph.D. at University of Colorado sent the following:  "I am writing this because women are not being informed about the dangers of something most of us use: Tampons. I am taking a class this  month and I have been learning a lot about biology and women, including feminine hygiene. Recently we have learned that tampons are actually dangerous (for other reasons than TSS). After learning about this in our class, most of the females wound up feeling angry and upset with the
tampon industry, and I for one, am going to do something about it. To start, I want to inform everyone I can, and email is the fastest way  that I know how.
HERE IS THE SCOOP: Tampons contain two things that are potentially harmful: Rayon (for absorbency), and dioxin (a chemical used in bleaching). The tampon industry is convinced that we, as women, need bleached white products in order to view the product as pure and clean.
The problem here is that the dioxin, can lead to very harmful problems for a woman. Dioxin is potentially carcinogenic (cancer-associated) and is toxic to the immune and reproductive systems. It has also been  linked  to endometriosis and lower sperm counts for men. For both sexes, it  breaks down the immune system.
Last September, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported that there really is no "acceptable" level of exposure to dioxin given that it is cumulative and slow to disintegrate. The real danger comes from repeated contact (Karen Couppert "Pulling the Plug on the Tampon
Industry"). I'd say using about 4-5 tampons a day, five days a month, for 38 years is "repeated contact", wouldn't you? Rayon contributes to the danger of tampons and dioxin because it is a highly absorbent substance. Therefore, when fibers from the tampons are left behind in
the vagina (as usually occurs), it creates a breeding ground for the  dioxin. It also stays in a lot longer that it would with just cotton tampons. This is also the reason why TSS (toxic shock syndrome) occurs.
WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES? Using feminine hygiene products that aren't  bleached and that are all cotton. Other feminine hygiene products (pads/napkins) contain dioxin as well, but they are not nearly as dangerous. So, what can you do if you can't give up using tampons? Use  tampons that are made from 100% UNBLEACHED cotton.
Unfortunately, there are very few companies that make these safe tampons. They are usually only found in health food stores. Countries all over the world (Sweden, Germany, British Columbia, etc.) have demanded a switch to this safer tampon, while the US has decided to keep
us in the dark about it. In 1989, activists in England mounted a  campaign against chlorine bleaching. Six weeks and 50,000 letters later, the makers of sanita ry products switched to oxygen bleaching (one of the green methods available) (MS magazine, May/June 1995).
WHAT TO DO NOW: Tell people. Everyone. Inform them. We are being manipulated by this industry and the government, let's do something about it! Please write to the companies: Tampax (Tambrands); Playtex; O.B.; Kotex. All the 800 numbers are listed on the boxes. Let them know that we demand a safe product: ALL COTTON UNBLEACHED TAMPONS...
REMINDER: In order not to lose the impact of this email, I suggest that anyone who wants to forward it to their friends, PLEASE copy this mail  and paste it to a NEW message. That way it will not distort the whole message with all the forward arrows. Please do this with consideration and seriousness."

Read this and make a copy for your files in case you need to refer to it someday. Maybe we should all take some of his advice!

A corporate attorney sent the following out to the employees in his company.

1. The next time you order checks have only your initials (instead of first name) and last name put on them. If someone takes your checkbook, they will not know if you sign your checks with just your initials or your first name, but your bank will know how you sign your checks.

2. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card accounts, DO NOT put the complete account number on the "For" line. Instead, just put the last four numbers.   The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check processing channels won't have access to it.

3. Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone. If you have a PO Box use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use your work address. Never have your SS# printed on your checks. You can add it if it is necessary. But if you have it printed, anyone can get it.

4. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine. Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc You will know what you had in your wallet and all of the account numbers and phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place. I also carry a photocopy of my passport when I travel either here or abroad.

We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed on us in stealing a name, address, Social Security number, credit cards.  Unfortunately, I, an attorney, have firsthand knowledge because my wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thieve(s) ordered an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA credit card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway computer, received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving record information online, and more.

But here's some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens to you or someone you know:

1. We have been told we should cancel our credit cards immediately. But the key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you know whom to call. Keep those where you can find them.

2. File a police report immediately in the jurisdiction where your credit cards, etc. were stolen. This proves to credit providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward an investigation (if there ever is one).

But here's what is perhaps most important of all : (I never even thought to do this.)

3.Call the 3 national credit reporting organizations immediately to place a fraud alert on your name and Social Security number. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that called to tell me an application for credit was made over the Internet in my name. The alert means any company that checks your credit knows your information was stolen, and they have to contact you by phone to authorize new credit By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after the theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of all the credit checks initiated by the thieves' purchases, none of which I knew about before placing the alert. Since then, no additional damage has been done, and the thieves threw my wallet away. This weekend someone turned it in. It seems to have stopped them dead in their tracks.

Now, here are the  numbers you always need to contact about your wallet, etc has been stolen:

    1.)  Equifax: 1-800-525-6285

    2.)   Experian (formerly TRW): 1-888-397-3742

    3.)  Trans Union: 1-800-680-7289

4.)  Social Security Administration (fraud line)
          1-800-269-0271

ALWAYS WASH IT FIRST!

A stock clerk was sent to clean up a storeroom in Maui, Hawaii.  When he got back, he was complaining that the storeroom was really filthy and that he had noticed dried mouse or rat droppings in some areas.

A couple of days later, he started to feel like he was coming down with a stomach flu, complained of sore joints and headaches, and began to vomit.  He went to bed and never really got up again.

Within two days he was severely ill and weak.  His blood sugar count was down to 66, and his face and eyeballs were yellow.  He was rushed to the emergency at Pali-Momi, where he was diagnosed to be suffering from massive organ failure.  He died shortly before midnight.

No one would have made the connection between his job and his death, had it not been for a doctor who specifically asked if he had been in a warehouse or exposed to dried rat or mouse droppings at any time.  They said there is a virus (much like the Hanta virus) that lives in dried rat and mouse droppings.  Once dried, these droppings are like dust and can easily be breathed in or ingested if a person does not wear protective gear or fails to wash face and hands thoroughly.

An autopsy was performed on the clerk to verify the doctor's suspicions....

This is why it is extremely important to ALWAYS carefully rinse off the tops of canned sodas or foods, and to wipe off pasta packaging, cereal boxes,  and so on.  Almost everything you  buy in a supermarket was stored in a warehouse at one time or another, and stores themselves often have rodents.  Most of us remember to wash vegetables and fruits but never think of boxes and cans.

The ugly truth is, even the most modern, upper class, super store have rats and mice.  And their warehouse most assuredly does!

Whenever you buy any canned soft drink, please make sure that you wash the top with running water and soap or, if that is not available, drink with a straw.

The investigation of soda cans by the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta discovered that the tops of soda cans can be encrusted with dried rat's urine, which is so toxic it can be lethal.  Canned drinks and other foodstuffs are stored in warehouses and containers that are usually infested with Rodents, and then they get transported to retail outlets without being properly cleaned.

Yikes I have never done this !! But I think I'll start !

Thanks Headbanger for this!!!!!!
So much for privacy! (Serious... read on!)

Google has implemented a new feature wherein you can type someone's
telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and then you will be
given a map to their house. Everyone should be aware of this!

Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. Before
forwarding this, tested it by typing a friend's telephone number in
google.com. Their phone number came up, and when I clicked on the Map Quest
link, it actually mapped out where they live. Quite scary.

Please look up your own number. Read below for details. Think about it--if a
child, ANYONE gives out his/her phone number, someone can actually now look
it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious, and
alarming.

In order to test whether your phone number   is mapped, go to:
http://www.google.com/ Type your phone number in the search bar (i.e.
555-555-1212) and hit enter.

If you want to BLOCK Google from divulging your private information, simply
click on the telephone icon next to your phone number, or the word telephone
above the phone number.   Removal takes 48-hours.

If you are unlisted in the phone book or have a cell   phone you might not
be in there, but it is a good idea just to check. If your number does come
up and you click on "map", it will show you a direct map to your house.

Car Accidents
Some of you may already know this but I thought I'd post it anyways just to be safe. I don't know about going airborne like they say but I definately know your car will speed up and hydroplane from this.

A 36 year old female had an accident several weeks
ago and totaled her car. A resident of Kilgore,
Texas, she was traveling between Gladewater &
Kilgore. It was raining, though not excessively,
when her car suddenly began to hydroplane and
literally flew through the air. She was not
seriously injured but very stunned at the sudden
occurrence!

When she explained to the highway patrolman what
had happened he told her something that every
driver should know - NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN WITH YOUR CRUISE CONTROL ON. She had thought she was being cautious by setting the cruise control and maintaining a safe consistent speed in the rain.

But the highway patrolman told her that if the
cruise control is on and your car begins to
hydroplane -- when your tires lose contact with
the pavement, your car will accelerate to a higher
rate of speed and you take off like an airplane.
She told the patrolman that was exactly what had
occurred.

The highway patrol estimated her car was actually
traveling through the air at 10 to 15 miles per
hour faster than the speed set on the cruise
control.

The patrolman said this warning should be listed,
on the driver's seat sun-visor - NEVER USE THE
CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE PAVEMENT IS WET OR ICY, along with the airbag warning. We tell our teenagers to set the cruise control and drive a
safe speed -- but we don't tell them to use the
cruise control only when the pavement is dry.
