I need everyone's opinion! MSN has gone off the deep end, or the saying "Everything must come to an end" is correct. As of Feb of '09 MSN is closing our groups. We have been together here for a VERY long time. I don't want to see YEARS of memories just vanish. I have migrated our group to their "partner", and hate it. I have a myspace page, and I don't do blogs, and this is a combo of both! I like what we have here. What I am willing to do, and have already begun, is create our very own website. If you think our time as a group has come to an end, please tell me. I will save the things from here that are special to me, and just delete the group if that is what everyone wants. I know I havent been around as much as I used to be, but we have had a rough year. I'm willing to do all the work and when you see the new site, it will look like home. I just need to know to do. I will continue to look for something better, and will keep our "miagrated" site on multiply, so we have a backup of everything. Just please help me make this decision, I know we all have years of memories here we dont want to lose! |

Ty for your feedback, it means the world to me!! Well, yes, they are closing. They are coming out with a new setup, and doing away with groups. I have checked out ALOT of different places, and found one that looks similar to here. Check it out, and if you like, I will set us up. As for our pages, I can link to them :), or just add them to posts. I have noticed alot of other groups moving there. Let me know what you think, or if ya know of a better community. Thanks again, Voo |

Ok, an update. Aimoo looks promising! It took awhile to research it, but so far the only thing I see as a problem is no photo albums. MSN provided us with online storage for our photos and documents, but this is not an option on Aimoo. But, what others are doing is moving their photos and graphics to a free online storage such as Photobucket. I will be moving all the group graphics and will start a new accout on photobucket just for group stuff. What I like about Aimoo, is they will migrate the group over, exactly as it is the day they move it. It will be basicly a snapshot of the whole group and will saved on the forums there. We can still use graphics and pics in our posts there, they just can not be saved in this group. (When the groups go away, so will our pics and graphics) I will be willing to help everyone any way I can, and will not miagrate this group there until I have updated all the links after moving all of our backgrounds, ect. Over the next few weeks, I will be saving all graphics and pictures, then uploading them to photobucket. Once that is done, I will fix the pages in this group, so when we do move over, none of the pages will be affected. I suggest opening an accout with photobucket to save all your personal photos. I am looking into the concept of grouping all our stuff on photobucket, and will let you know more as I find out. Aimoo seems to be what we are looking for for the future, as it is a message board, but without losing all we have worked so hard for, we will always have the group, just not able to modify, or post messages in it. New messages will go to the message boards on Aimmo once set up. |
