Well, I had my appt. with the pain mgmt yesterday. What a jerk !!!! My story in a nutshell... minor shoulder injury a year ago.... started out pain 7-8 daily, unable to lift arm on my own. Through fighting this thing tooth and nail, and with the help of multiple meds, my pain on average is 2-3 now. BUT, It's spread from l. shoulder to both hands/wrists. Unable to write/type for long periods of time, unable to do a lot of things formerly possible. Get a lot of swelling, stiffness in wrists, a lot of weakness, trmors, trembling, loss of ROM, etc. Went to see Doc Jack@!# yesterday! Tells me that he cannot give me a diagnosis of RSD, (after 3 strength tests with hands, never even touched shoulder, or tested pain), that I look fine to him, and I should hame EMG ? Nerve testing to prove I have it. Didn't take my history down much at all, and didn't even look at the four page history form that took me three days to fill out. (Of course, this is due to the pain I get from writing due to the RSD that I don't have !!) I was crying when I left it was so bad. I've read about some of your experiences with Doctors, but have never experienced one that bad before. And the worst is I am (Or was when I was working), a secretary for a doctors office and we would never treat someone like that! Well, my Doc is sending me to a new pain mgmt, hopefully he's better than the last.... Dawn |
