Hey all,

I guess I'm a little out of the loop withthis one.... What the heck does ECT stand for?

It seems like all the rave for a few of you and I feel like I could be missing out on a chance for some relief...

Cause I'm considering getting Spinal Chord Stimulator (SCS)

Let me know...
thanks,
Michelle

I hadnt heard of it either Michelle. I am certialy talk to my Pain specialist about it. I have had very good luck with upper eppidurals. I have RSD for 8 years in both arms, shoulders and in my spine where the sympathetiv nerve come out..somewhere in the T8 area. I also suffer with a deterioriation disk disease in my upper spine and neck. Anyway, last september my pain Dr was going to help with the terrible pain comming from my back where the discs are worn so badly the set righ on the nerves and its as bad as the RSD in my arms. SO the Dr does an upper eppidural for the back pain and appearantly when the medicine ran down in inside on my spinal cord it got some on the Sympathetic nerve calming it as well..it lasted 4 months the this year on Jam 3nd I recieved my 2nd eppidural...its been over 5 months, I have been thru hell in feb and april and in the hospital for a double pulmonary embolism(blood clots in both legs caused by a knee hyperextension) anyway the eppidural is still working and my pain level is at the highest a 4 or 5 on a 1 to 10 in my spine and even the RSD in my arms..

Hi,  I just saw your question about ECT.  I've had it for over a year, at intervals, and I now lift weights 3x wk, fish, garden, etc.  I feel great and reccommend it and check with your Dr. It's Electro Convulsive Therapy and it's great.  My last tx was 2 mos. ago.

Please send me any questions regarding ECT.  It helps the nerves regenerate new paths.

Sylvia
