I got my test results back today, the doctor called so early she woke my mom up. I kind of wish the test results could have been more productive, but it basically confirmed what we already suspected from the pictures. I have severe damage to my esophugus, I guess the bile that is supposed to stay in your stomach is actually literally burning a hole in my esophogus, and causing damage to the lining of my stomach. This is supposedly what is causing the severe pains in my chest area, I guess the pain from the acid can be that bad. I just wish that for once doctors had a solution other than new meds. I guess there are only three meds that they can even use for gastroparesis, and I've already tried and failed with all three. So now they are going to try combining two of the meds I've tried. I will be taking 250 mg of something called eurithimyasin...not sure how to spell that....three times a day twenty minutes before meals, 8 mcg of amitiza twice a day, 30mg of prevacid twice a day, and whatever my dosage is of cymbalta. I still feel really weak and tired from the procedure, which is a bit weird but I'm just so tired. I have to wonder if it was even worth it since my doctor already pretty much figured this was the case based on my symptoms, but I guess they have to confirm. It's getting harder for me to remember what pill to take when, and I don't even know if it's doing me any good. I go back to my doctor in five weeks, and have a phone conference in two, so we'll see what they decide to do next. Unfortunately I'm falling asleep as I write this, I don't feel very good and I can't stay awake any longer, so I guess I'm going to take a nap. I just thought I'd let people know what is going on. |
