Hi Annie,
Thank-you for your warm welcome.
sorry to hear of your loss and recent spell in hospital hope things are improving for you.
I went to see the doc today and he actually put Chronic regiona;l pain syndrome on the sick note ( first time anyone has put it anywhere apart from consultant to GP letters).
I live in the UK so I may write strange things but i have a wacky sense of humour and never mean to offend.
look forward to talking to you on msn messenger.
regards
Helen

Hi Mirage,
Thank-you for you welcome, I look forward to corresponding with you and hope you are feeling better after your spell in hospital.
I am due to go in on Weds but it is only for a carpel tunnel release and scraping of the tendons , usually it would be a day patient basis but they are going to try the aneastheric on my arm for 3 days, I will not know anymore until after wards about what they use or how they find the nerves when they open it up.
I have just bought a book on pain called The War on Pain by Scott Fishman M.D. with Lisa Berger, so far it seems pretty helpful in understanding the pain mechanism.
Doesnt stop RSd but at least it acknowledges it, I got because it is one of the few books that had pages uopn pages about RSD.
Hope you are having good day.
love Helen

Hello Harricat!!
I just found the site myself. I am hoping that it will help us deal with the everyday ordeals that we have to face that others don't begin to understand. Tell me about your condition.  I am a 29 yr old female from the USA.
I have had RSD (CRPS) for 15 months and counting. I had to have a total hip replacement and the doctor cut a main nerve while I was in the OR. I have no use out of my left leg. I had severe drop foot and it was inverted (looked like my foot faced the opposite direction). I just had another surgery 3 weeks ago to try and correct that. It is a 50-50 shot.
I look forward to talking to you. Have a blessed day.
Charbear
