Hi, checking in for Oct. My m.d. is asking w/c for auth. of ketamine drip to bring my symptoms back to a managable level. He told me that ketamine had been used in surgery for years and that it is mixed with something that will help with the strange dreams that might occur. Stellates are not working anymore and the burning is spreading to different parts of my body, as well as the skin crawling sensitive sensation. My md told me today that my symptoms are just raging, and that it is not likely that there is a spread. My procedure would take about 3 hours and it probably the only thing that would help. Please let me know if any of you have had this treatment and if so was it successful. I am on a wing and a prayer. Also, did w/c or other insurance fight anyone on this treatment. As I understand it, this is not considered experimental because there is n o coma induced. |

Hello.
Im Carla From NJ . I was sched for the ketamine treatment in may this yr
and it was canceled due to a problem with the Ketamine. It was my understanding
they wouldn't be dong the treatments until after the new year???? Do you have a
date yet? I dont want to be the bearer of bad news to you but Id rather you know
so You dont get your hopes up as I did....Where do You live? I was going to NYC
to a Dr Richmond. I did see the Dr in Philly PA too but he only did out pt
treatments and I couldn't take that much time off from work. The NYC DR did it
in 5 days in patient and it seems to me it would work better that way too.
Please lt me know where and when you are going I am nervous about the
whole dreaming thing myself!!! Seems strange that id be worried most about that
and not that its experimental.
Please let me know.

Hi, Carla,
I'm in Colorado Springs, Co.
I'm in hopes of getting my ketamine treatment in two weeks. I expect problems with w/c, but ss may come through.
I guess they have used ketamine in surgery for years, and I think the FDA doesn't disapprove it iv use but I think the induced coma isn't done here. Probably have to be a university hospital doing trials if they could used this method. I'm not interested in any thing that experimental, but I wouldn't mind sleeping for three days.
As soon as I know something about a date and any other info I will let you know.
Do you know why treatment must begin after the new year? Is that just a start date?
That is a long wait, but if I can get it and have to wait then I want to be at the head of the line. I's do some research and see what I can find.
Thank you so much. |
