Hi all, New here, but wanted to check in. I have had RSD 7 yrs. Just found out my daughter also has RSD caused by a work injury. She is so very young. I feel some how it is my fault. Maybe in our genes. Either way must think of her now. She is to go to pain center soon. She was told early and she is young 2 pluses. Have a nice nite |

Hi, Sorry to hear about your daughter as well as yourself. it is sad when this awful disease happens to someone young. My daughter is 28 and has been working on this for 4 years watching it spread from her hands to her feet on both sides of her body. Which pain clinic is your daughter going to? Take care? Diane |

Thank you Diane. Sounds like you understand how I feel having a daughter yourself with RSD. I am so sorry you and your daughter know RSD up close and personal. I am not sure which pain center workmans comp sent her to. It is in Tampa FL. Thanks for caring, flower girl |

Hi Flowergrl, My heart goes ou to you and I do hope that your daughter gets help really fast. My daughter was in an awful accident 6 years ago and that is how, after 13 operations she developed RSD. In our trials and tribulations with the lawyers and insurance company we came across a pain specialist in Florida who helps people with RSD. Now of course I can't remember it off hand but they did do the treatments my daughter has been receiving in California. She has spent 4 weeks and then will have another 4 more getting neuro and bio feedback, psychological help, physical training, and meeting with the doctor who first tried nerve blocks on both arms but that gave relief just for a short while. Then he tried a Ketamine treatment as she didn't want a stimulator trial. she had just a short infusion trial and has responded well so we are back again on Monday for another kick at the can so to speak. I am saying this to give you hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel as although not cured or in remission my daughter has experienced less pain, in fact she has not taken narcotics for the last 3 weeks and is so much happier. and confident. She went to the clinic with a good frame of mind and I think that is important in the recovery. The program she was in proved intense and tiring but she kept working hard and we have seen positive results so far. I hope that your daughter has similar success and I feel for you as her Mom. It is so hard to see our children suffer, we are our children's , caregivers, moms, best friends and problem solvers. You also have your difficulties, look after yourself too. I send you my good wishes and prayers. Diane |
