I got RSD in Nov. 06 and my pain management doctor just began treating specifically for  RSD about 2 weeks ago. I've recently noticed whenever I'm around a lot of noise and commotion, my pain level goes up and so does the swelling and discoloration. Is that normal with RSD? I've also noticed my vision seems to get blurrier right before I have an increase in pain and swelling and I'm not sure if that is RSD related. Oh, I'm taking amytriptiline and neurotin, but I had the samethings going on before I was on any medication.
I also want to thank you for this group. Though I've never posted anything before, I've been reading all of your post for awhile and there's some comfort in knowing I'm not alone with this strange disorder.

Hi, my Husband has had rsd for 5 years now and is it great pain. When his stress levels increase so doe the pain, discolouration ect. We tend to avoid the crowds because of that. His vision has been affected too but that is more of a ongoing thing. I put on the mood music cds for him and that seems to help.I hope this helps as Rsd can effect people in so many different ways.
love Elaine

 Hello There Franklin,

My name is christina,my husband has rsd and has himself expressed that he would perfer to live alone (breaks my heart) ....but sadly with three young kids 2 dogs and 3 cats never a dull moment let alone a quiet one. Sure makes it hard on a marriage.......WCB & RSD are rippin' my life apart..

It might not be the noise so much as it is the stress that you feel with the increased noise thatbrasises you pain.that what happens to me, think abolut it you might notice that with music you like for example that doesn't happen.
if you need a friend feel free to contact us were are all here for you
