like most people who suffer from RSD sleep isnt an easy thing for me and I'm curious, does anyone know of anything natural other than valarian root and melatonin that can help me fall asleep? (my insurance wont cover any prescription sleep aids) I need something strong that will keep me asleep as well.. any ideas?

Hi Terra,
I'm Dawn, I'm new to here too. I just got rsd sometime within the last year or so. I've also been having a lot of trouble with the sleeping. I haven't tried it yet, but someone recommended Tynelol PM to me. It's supposed to help you sleep, and it has the tynelol to 'help' with pain also. I'll let you know how I make out.

hello dawn,

in all honesty i wouldnt go for the tylenol PM, ive tried it and advil PM they really dont work and they dont do much for the pain( also they can react badly with any pain medications u may already be taking, something i would recommend for you however is "celestial seasonings extra strength sleepy time tea" it is all natural and works quite well for most people( the taste is also pleasant too) I used to take it and it did work for me for several months but i built up a resistance to it after a while, still during the time it worked it was quite nice. I hope this will work for you! best wishes

~Terra

Hi there,

We bought Melatonin at Walmart ( generic Brand ) for like $4.00, It's not that expensive so maybe that's an option for you.  Hope you get some sleep soon!

Thanks, I'll have to give the tea a try. I did try the tynelol pm. It did help a lot actually. The doctor said it was ok to take long-term. My concern is that I tended to oversleep the couple times I've taken it. That's fine since I'm on vacation, but not while working. I'll give the tea a try tommorow...... Dawn

So glad you asked.  I take over thecounter sleep aid from rite aid, but the pharmacy tech said Benadryl is the best with no after affects.
