<DJust wanted to report back on how my appt with Dr. Getson went. First let me say he was very nice and very laid back (but very knowledgeable) I was comfortable talking to him within a minute of meeting him. After reviewing my history he gave me his suggestions. First was to have a thermography done to see if the RSD has spread to my hand (from my foot) He is really into thermographys and feels they are extremely useful. So... if it hasnt spread then he thinks first I just at least do the trial SCS. If that doesnt work then go for the ketamine. Or if the RSD has spread to my hand then I shouldnt bother with the SCS- I should just go for the ketamine.

Now here is the clincher, which I am still confused about. If my insurance will cover it then he said I should do the awake 5 day hospital stay. BUT if my insurance doesnt cover it and I am going to pay out of pocket then he said I should go to Germany and do the coma tx for the same cost! I was blown away! He said its more bang for your buck and that the coma tx would be a lot more beneficial. He said they are having great success with no bad side effects. But I am no where near ready to go for the coma. I still work and am not as bad as many of you here. So....I am so confused --
PS. I believe Dr. Getson is the only doctor currently doing the ketamine in the US
