I am so happy to have you join our family, and we are that here we are family and someone will always answer your posts...and I check the site daily for messages so I will usually answer first.

Ok on to your question. I don't know how long you have suffered from RSD so it is hard for me to say how you will respond to the blocks. I was treated with the first of the series of the blocks in December and they worked so well that minimal medication was needed for pain relief. My relief level at that point was between 6 and 8 weeks. The next block lasted for about 4-6 weeks (heavenly relief). The next block only lasted 2 weeks which made me no longer a candidate for blocks.

I tell everyone to at least try the blocks because there is a chance that if the blocks work you will go into a partial remission which means that the pain levels are at a tolerable level and your activities of daily living will increase. The meds will also be more effective. My sentiment on the whole RSD treatment thing is if there is a possibility of enough relief that you can get back to some resemblence of normal then try it. If it doesn't work you can really have no regrets later that you didn't listen to your doctor because it may have helped.

As for the use of herbs, chiropractics and so forth. My doctor told me that even though he supports chiropractics and natural remedies such as herbs they are pretty much a no no. He says make sure to check with a doc or pharmacist on the herbs because they may render your meds ineffective.

I hope this helps. Please see your doc today and talk to him about the other things you have been trying, if he is honest he will tell you straight up what will and will not help you and what may hurt you.

Again welcome to the family.

Luv and Hugs
