A new co-worker of mine was asking me for advise on a color she had done a few days before. She couldn't understand why the lighter formula she used on the client would not budge. I pondered it for a minute, then said well, maybe she had a color in her hair? And the stylist said she did. I looked at her strangely, and said, well you know that haircolor does not lift haircolor, how could you have been a hairstylist for 28 years and not know that? She said well Clairol did! And then another new stylist jumped in with, yeah, Clairol did! I told her but that's the law of haircolor, the primary rule, everyone knows that. She said you can lift a color with clairol if you put a filler on it first. I've never heard of that, and it goes against everything I've ever been taught. Has anyone ever heard of this? |
