I had this male client today whose girlfriend had tried to highlight his hair. It came out very patchy and blotchy, not like highlights at all. So, I suggested we go back to his light brown haircolor and then redo the highlights. He had decided only to do the light brown color, because he didn't want to be there that long, and didn't have alot of money. So, I know that usually you have to fill the hair first and then put the color in, but I've seen so much success with just using demi color because it deposits. Well, he had what looked like between a level 6-7 light brown natural level, and the blond that I was fixing could have been a level 10, and I mixed up Matrix Colorsynch, and used 1/2 6n and 1/2 8A. It didn't take the color all the way, so I decided to apply one shade darker. It blended in ok, not so blotchy, but it didn't cover the way I wanted to, which was a solid base. He was fine with it because it looked better, but I was wondering if there was something I could have done differently? |
