First Kiss

The scuffle of nervous feet,
the shy flutter of eyes,
fidgeting hands,
that seems to never calm down.
Eyes that wander,
fingers that tangle,
rapid beating heart,
that seems to have run away.

Two shy people,
only steps apart,
lips curled into a shy smile,
all knowing what's next.
Slowly the distance closes,
they are in eachother's arms.
Suddenly the wandering eyes stop,
a moment of perfect happiness.

The shyness fades,
an instant boldness settles,
the eyes close,
the lips meet,
for a loves gentle first kiss.
