Hard to tell from this beautiful picture but during the civil war the one end was used as a "field hospital" during the war both union and confederate soldiers used this bridge ,especially by the confederates as they retreated. It's not hard to imagine why this bridge is one of the most haunted site's in Gettysburg. |
