i wqs thinking about those various things used for magic rituals and thought they might not be that worthless after all.
You can look at them as if they are like semiconductor transistors. In case you dont know how a transistor works ill describe: You give it a signal, which is really low in amplitude like lets say its a wave of like 0.1Volts in amplitude (ill use voltage for the description if you dont mind), you also give it some strong constant voltage like 100V, the transistor shapes that 100V voltage in the same shape that that 0.1V signal has. You can think of it as a water tap in your bathroom, you turn the tap and it changes the amount of water that flows, so you are regulating the water with a small force applied to the tap. This is used mostly in radios and transmitters where electromagnetic waves are magnified to go to speakers and we hear sound.
Anyway, if we suppose that all those magical items have some magical energy of their own, then all we do is shape that energy with ours. So we force those objects to vibrate in same way we do, thus amplifying our power. Or maybe it works vice versa: we are the enormous source of power, and using the object shape that power in an appropriate way, so we can really "shout" to the universe. |

I would say yes... sometimes... depending upon what you are doing and how you are doing it. Look up how sympathetic magic works for instance. This is to attract a quality to yourself that you may not already have or at least to bring it out. It can work both ways depending upon what you are doing also. Perhaps some joinings can even create a synergy. Also, you may not wish to force the objects. You can talk nicely to them like I do. |

The Frosts (of the Church and School of Wicca) introduced the concept of ritual/individuals participating in ritual as a conductor in one of their books....i think it was "The Magic Power of White Witchcraft", but it could have been another. I personally don't agree with a lot of their statements, practices or beliefs, but the energy dynamics as they lay it out is actually fairly straightforward to my recollection. Basically, as i recall, they emphasized polarity, and would have males and females facing in different directions to maximize flow, creating a dynamo effect. |
