The Frosts (of the Church and School of Wicca) introduced the concept of ritual/individuals participating in ritual as a conductor in one of their books....i think it was "The Magic Power of White Witchcraft", but it could have been another.

 

I personally don't agree with a lot of their statements, practices or beliefs, but the energy dynamics as they lay it out is actually fairly straightforward to my recollection.

 

Basically, as i recall, they emphasized polarity, and would have males and females facing in different directions to maximize flow, creating a dynamo effect.
