Lucid dreaming is where the dreamer allows his/her consciousness to guide them through there dreams, it is basically dreaming but being aware that you are dreaming and it as much as that have therfor the control over where your dreams go to, what happens in them a wide spectrum that is only inhibited by your own imagination.

Will put up this first set on information because it is the foundation of bening able to have lucid dreams, hopefully people will try it and post there results. There is a certain amount of effort needed on behalf of the dreamer working towards lucid dreaming but can assure you it is so very usefull, if it works out on average we all dream in 90mins cycles a night.. then surely its worth the effort to use this time wisely lol, i call it working whilst i sleep!

Ok so first things first is you need to know your normal dreams well, there patterns most frequent appearances of things etc... without the ability to dream recall, lucid dreaming is a very hard if not impossible task!

Its important that you keep a dream diary, by your bed with a pen everynight, upon waking up dont move atall, keep still and calm and let the first thing u do be to go over the dream u just had, in as much detail as you can, in your mind, its suggested in much literature that the best way to dream recall in your mind is to get one scene from your dream and then go in reverse remembering, try and recall what happened just before the scene you remember and so on... then write it all down still moving as little as possible in your diary, the place u were at , the people there, transport you saw animals colours, moods , anything said or you heard being spoken ...

As with alot of things like dream work astral travel obe's... the intention is paramount, just like when ya worry over something hugely , like a job interview or whatever happening the next day, because the 'intent' to worry is on your mind alot of the times the dream will follow in that vain!!

I when i go to sleep and want a lucid dream or to ask something that bothering me and b shown guidance, i relax as much as possible i clear my mind and over n over n over again untill i drop off i say...'cud u plz guide me with said matter in a dream and let me recall it in the morning' this is a good technique for dream recall ive found, but also you may notice you dream more during the day.. this is because you sleep lighter and normally only 'nap'... so if your really wanting to get into lucid dreaming but have trouble with remembering your dreams, then try the alarm clock method... set your alarm for say 4 hours after you have slept to go off, wake up turn it off and set it again for hour and a halfs time.... again when u wake up from the alarm, if you have any dream recall dont move other than to switch alarm off and go through it in your mind and then write it down.

Or if thats a bit to difficult with in your circumstances try setting your alarm to wake up up an hour and a half earlier than u usually get up and go thru same routine.

Dont be disheartened if it doesnt happen staright away, those well versed in dream recall will find this easier but all can do it as all do dream.

The point of this fr those who find it easier to dream recall is that when lucid dreaming we need trigger points... things within the dream that make us go hold on thats not right HEY im dreeaming lol

So ya need to find your familiaritys.. also anything you read about dreams or that is good also before bed helps your focus, and after your dream diary gets fuller re-read that before bed also.

So basically get pen and diary for dream recall work by your bed close by.

When you sleep if you recall easy, then wake up dont move atall, run thru in your mind your dream, trying to always recall the scene before the one u recall straight away,,, once thats done write down everything as much as you can remember.Do this everynight.

If you cant recall easy, then use the alarm clock method, set it for 4 hours after you fall asleep, or for one and half hours before you wake up normally and use the same method as above to recall as much as you can.

Any reading bout dreams etc and remembering past dreams and that before bed helps.

If you find problems also use the intention ... 'I want to have a dream tonight and remember it when i wake up in the morning' over n over n over till ya fall asleep.

Hope this is of some help and it makes sense lmao!!

If there are any questions then just ask or if ya have anything that works for you to dream recall or indeed if ya lucid dream already and have some other techniquues id love to hear them.

Once you have the dream diary to work with then you will need to find something within your dreams that occurs frequently, thats easiest method but i will research into more ways i know there are some very ermmm weird ways to induce lucid dreaming, one being needing to go to the toilet b4 bed but not going and then dreaming your going to toilet in ur dream.. that being ur trigger point into hey i didnt go to toilet therfor im dreaming!!!!! But im not so sure id advise that one for most people lmaooo!!! but it is a valid trigger point lol!

But once ya can work through your dreams then you can find your own familiar... wether it b a person a house a church a dog a road a car whatever aslong as it appears often in your dreams...

Anyways i stop babbling now lol sorry i didnt get this done earlier i been bit poorly ... self induced tho lol! i shall do some more research and that get things rolling, hope this has been of some help to those wishing to try... its based really on how i do it, any problems with it and i shall do research and find other methods that may suit ppl better.

Thanks Maia, this is all fantastic.  I can recall my dreams so will be having a go at some of these things you are posting.  I appreciate you taking the time to do all this for the community.

wow this is very intresting i have very vivid dreams and about a year or so ago i started controlling my dreams and sometimes even changeing the result of a dream if that make sence...sometimes if im having a bad dream i can wake myself up ive also started "finishing " or "contining' a dream after being awaken its kindof funny my daughter will come wake me up and ill say let me finsih my dream first lol

I've also found this thread very interesting, as I've been able to control and continue my dreams for as long as i can remember, so it was a great shock to me when i later realised this isn't a usual thing  
I've no idea why I can do this, but it's a lovely gift to have and for the amount of sleeping i do, it comes in very handy! Lol!  
I'll definately be trying the excercises suggested now and make sure i try harder at keeping a note of my dreams! (theres a pad beside my bed with one nights dreams that i keep forgetting to write in.. so will make more of an effort!)

Thanks for the info,
I've been having a couple of lucid dreams lately and it's really entertaining! The last one I had was where our house had doubled in size and I was running a children's home! I even went outside to have a look and make sure it wasn't our house!
Sometimes, I get to thinking, in the dream, that I got the 'reality' wrong, and that we really DO have extra rooms, etc, that I've not aknowledged before (maybe we're dreaming when we're awake, and the dream is real life) -just kidding lol!
Lovely to hear other people's experiences. I shall commit to more 'intention', and see what happens!

WOW! I have been searching for a way to try and recall my dreams because they seem to be so vivid and filled with messages lately. However each time I try to recall, I can only remember bits and pieces. It gets frustrating at times because I feel like there are so many messages but I can't seem to decipher them properly... : (
