all three canaries l-r; Frankie (male), unnamed new female, and Georgie

Cinnamon (society finch), and Frankie (male canary)

unnamed "new" female canary

l-r Tammy & Timmy (orange-cheek waxbills), Topper (zebra finch), and unnamed Spice Finch

Georgie, my favorite girl; i think shes about 7 (maybe older??)

unnamed society finch

Spirit (born 9-11-2002)

society pair

Topper (one legged zebra finch)  got his name because when i put the fresh bowl of water in, hell hop in the middle and spin around because he cant wait for the water to stop swirling!

my cordon bleu, Trish, who is probably actually a male (hard to tell unless they sing), and who has been plucked, probably by Topper (bad zebra finch trait)

Nice birds......i really like birds, rodents don't do much for me but birds are cool.  every budgie we ever had was smart as can be......if it wasn't for the cats there'd be a budge or two flying around the house (though they used to nibble the corners off my books!)

my rodents are smart!  not many people are "into" rodents though, unless theyve been around them.  too many prejudices out there....

i can see what you mean about prejudices, i've met some people--mostly-but-not-all women--who seemed to react to a hamster or gerbil as if it was a rat, or something scary...........me, i don't mind the little guys, they have never intrigued me as pet material.........we had a hermit crab once, called Martha, and i swear it had moer personality than the hamsters the kids had!

hmmm,  'hermit' crab, might be a good pet for someone...........or maybe a model.....................isolates, thick shell...........come to think of it, sounds good to me too!
