I was reborn into
a dance of fireworks,
that could spring into solder,
and breathe gray lead into the lives
of simple
souls,

in a camp on the wrong side of the border.

~J. Yamashita

boy i'm telling you.....
just my luck
much as i hated lines

look at me now....
marching in one.
these crumbs are heavy
the bitch ant spits eggs
like a vending machine.

it's just all i can do
to not throw myself
in a vat of chocolate
and be swallowed
by a hungry mayan.

~dw

i will be a Winslow tug
for you - and kiss the moon
marbly.
my sea will approach
your coastline;
and once ashore -
i'll dissolve
and be gone into
the arc of your wave.

the countless vibrations
of great blue heron overhead
and the rudders beneath me -
will set the sun to rise;
and etched into nature's
weatherbeaten smile,
and violet watercolors,
you will hear the song
of the lark.

~susan

Not a fawn in a thicket
whose spots tell me of Nature's forgiveness

nor even a stalk of Iowa corn whose ten feet
of nobility
impossibly began beneath a field of ice

but perhaps I am a Joshua tree unfolding green branches
in a wheel of sand
near the flatbeds of ancient rivers
