i made a minor revision to this poem for sound purposes.  it will probably be used in part 2 of a 3 part multimedia project i am doing with Barry Smylie and Ryan Douglas called, Tower.  the poem will probably be cut/spliced into different areas and not heard as a continuous piece.

part 1 has been completed.  this project will probably be released in the spring, sometime after Book 16 of The Iliad.

nothing concealed

thereafter,
words will
be superfluous.
nouns and verbs will
submerge, arise
lakefront
where you and i will
neigh in grasses
each side of their stems.
we will
be glad of the moss
and sun and moon
and stars,
and the songs of birds.

nothing concealed.

Susan, I usually try to dish out some criticism to be fussy etc but with this one I can't. Its got something special. For a start the rhythm is a delight, weaving between rising and falling rhythm, the line breaks helping it along visually; 'will' echoes along its length too and keeps it fluid and ringing with the 'L' sound, so that when you mention the lakefront, it is there.. L is the water sound. neighing in the grass is good too, the poem is a world in itself and we accept that strangness more as a delight than a strangeness.
Nothing concealed at the end finishes by taking L down into D... your intentions are formed in sound as well as meaning. My hat would be off if I wore one.

thanks, hekter -

really appreciate you taking the time to listen, read and reply.

looks like barry liked it too.  he wanted part 2 of Tower to center around a lake he's familiar with.  i said, hey!  i got this "lake" poem.  hahaha
so as soon as the weather gets better up in canada - he's gonna take some pictures of his favorite lake and environs.

i have no idea what part 3 is about.
