LOL!!! Like dorsal fins..."of or situated at the back"

Hey now! This started a whole new thing in my household. i.e. "Get your dorsal in here, NOW"; "keep your dorsal in your chair during dinner", etc....

LOL, when my niece was a mighty mite, I would swoop her up and teasingly threaten to toss her "into the dustbin!" So at nursery school when the teacher asked her to throw something into the trash, she piped up and said, "Do you mean the dustbin?" My sister got a phone call from the teacher asking where my niece learned her extensive vocabulary.

heheh....

DG uses "Straight away",  "a bit" "mind" (as in 'watch') and SOMETIMES (not always) "cinema".

 

I blame it on her being a globe trotter.

Raf, DG sounds delightful.   I'm sure she's having a great time with "dorsal".

 

I've heard some good ones from my nieces/nephews over the years. The best surprise (I think) was when my nephew, Jason, was just starting to talk, but none of us had heard a peep from him--they live in Cincy and were here for the holidays. We kept trying to get him to say something, and he finally said "I don't want to!" Not just a word, mind you, a sentence.

 

He is now a freshman at Vanderbilt.
